Toning Hair Mousse - Schwarzkopf Professional Igora Expert Mousse
The mousse is amazing, especially for those with red hair who know how quickly the red pigment fades. The mousse saves the day! It allows you to restore your beautiful copper color in just 10 minutes, without constantly having to dye your hair. It applies evenly, as long as you apply it correctly. It even works well on the roots and does not harm the hair, so I definitely recommend it.
I am not a colorist, but I guess that the girls who give negative ratings to light shades have probably dyed their hair, maybe not for the first time, at a local hairdresser, then touched up their roots at home with a palette, and decided to cover it all up with this mousse and now they are wondering why they have green, reddish spots.
Of course, I am exaggerating, but still, this mousse is from a professional line, in my opinion, it should only be applied by a professional who did the blonde hair.
On my natural dark hair, it looks great. But on light hair, I wouldn't risk applying it myself.
The mousse is great, 3-0, it is very noticeable on dark, porous, and russet hair, almost black, but it becomes lighter after a couple of applications, like dark chocolate. I leave it on for 40 minutes, sometimes even more.
It stains the hands a lot, gloves are necessary. It also stains the scalp. The water, bathtub, walls, and towel turn purple because of it. The water still runs with some color after a few washes.
Let's not deceive ourselves, it is not hair care, it does make the hair shiny after application, but only until the first wash.
I definitely recommend it for dark shades. I want to try it now on gray hair, as I was pleasantly intrigued by the comments that it slightly tones gray hair.
P.S. There used to be a burgundy color here, it lasted so long that you could see the roots that grew out for a while.
Decent color.
I have my own natural chestnut color with some light strands. I wanted to refresh the color and make my hair more shiny and even-toned. But what came out and how to remove it is unclear. I have already washed my hair five times and it's not helping.
I am very satisfied with this tonic, as it allows me to avoid coloring my gray hair with permanent dye and keeps my hair silky and shiny.
Yesterday I received my order and today I tried it. It's an amazing product. The color matches perfectly. I got the shade 3-0. It covers gray hair. I'm not sure how quickly it will wash out, but the results are great. Remember to use gloves when applying it.
I have been using this hair dye regularly, specifically shade 7.0. I am very satisfied with the results, as the color matches the description. My hair feels incredibly soft after use. The best part is that it effectively covers gray hair, which is its biggest advantage.
I ordered the 9.5-1 shade and applied it to the regrowth of my light brown hair. Unfortunately, I didn't see any results on my roots or on the previously lightened length. It's really surprising to get such a disappointing outcome from a brand and product at this price.
Instead of having a light brown shade, it turned into a chestnut-rye color. I wanted to add some shine to my natural reddish-brown hair. I'm really disappointed.
The 9.5-1 product does not work at all. It fails to care for or provide any level of tinting. It's a complete waste of money.
I am a blonde. I ordered the shade 9.5-1, but it didn't take at all. I tried it a second time, leaving it on even longer, but it still didn't take.
I have been using this mousse for several years now. I use it to color my gray hair because my hair is very long and I'm not ready to fully dye it yet. I choose different shades (from 5 to 8), but the most important thing is that it has a "golden" tone. When my gray hair has a golden hue, it blends in better with the overall dark color. It looks like highlights. However, I apply it on dry hair before washing and leave it on for about an hour, then wash my hair as usual.
Shade 9.5-12 perfectly tones into a cool blonde, no violet strands are present. Ideal for very light hair.
I have been ordering this product not for the first time, and it is really awesome. It gives my hair a shiny look and makes it slightly darker. It does not dye over gray hair.
I am satisfied! I have already used 5 jars. I really like it, it is easy to use and the shades match. I bought 3-0,5-0. It lasts up to 5 hair washes.
I have been constantly dyeing my hair with Londa 9/13. This time, I decided to try the mousse in shade 7-5. The result was fantastic - a beautiful dark brown with highlights, as if I had my hair professionally balayaged. It completely covered my gray hair! I left it on for 40 minutes and even after three washes, the color is still holding up well.
A waste of money. The hair is porous and it didn't hold at all.
I tried the 8-1 product and it effectively reduced yellowness. My hair looks as if I just had a salon treatment and it's already the second time I'm washing it. The texture is smooth and the strands are straight. I am extremely satisfied with the results.
This mousse is really great, it's a lifesaver. I leave it on my roots for 25-30 minutes, it covers my gray hairs and even lasts until the second wash. I will definitely buy it again. The shade is 5-0.
I really liked the mousse. It's easy to use. After using it, my hair feels smooth and shiny. The color gradually fades. I applied the color 5.99 on top of my fifth washed-out base. The color is beautiful, but it's not violet, it's more of a dark berry shade, not eggplant. It slightly stains the scalp. I've used it four times already, and there's still enough left in the bottle for one or two more applications. I will buy it again, but in a different shade.
Shade 5_0 Light Brown Natural, I have bought it several times and will continue to do so. It is the best tonic I have tried. It applies perfectly to the hair, I leave it on for more than 20 minutes for a rich shade (my hair color is light brown), and my hair looks very nice, well-groomed, with an even tone and shine after using it. It doesn't leave any pigment, and it washes out well within a few weeks. I highly recommend it.
The toning mousse is excellent. I chose shade 7.0, which is close to my natural color. I use it once a week during breaks between hair coloring. It refreshes the color nicely and leaves my hair silky and healthy-looking.
I have been reading the comments and some girls are saying that it has no effect. I disagree with that. I have been consistently buying this product for a year now. After all the treatments during washing with masks and so on, I wrap my hair in a towel for about 3-5 minutes. Then, I apply the mousse all over the length of my hair and leave it on for 20 minutes, wrapping my hair in a plastic bag (yes, specifically a bag for maintaining temperature), and a towel on top of the bag. Sometimes even longer than 20 minutes if I want a more intense effect. After that, I rinse it off with cold water. Ladies, the effect is amazing. The hair becomes shiny, soft, and the color becomes brighter and more vibrant. This mousse does not dye natural, uncolored hair, it maintains the color after dyeing. I am absolutely ecstatic about this product. I repeat the toning procedure 2-3 times a week.
I tried it, but it didn't have any effect at all.
I am choosing shade 3.0 (one shade darker than desired). It effectively covers gray hair, the color is pleasant, and it lasts up to 10 days. It is easy to use and suits me well.
I purchased the shade 8.77, which is close to a natural color. If left on for 15-20 minutes, it adds a reddish tint and makes the hair brighter, without any orange acidity. It washes out quite quickly. I am satisfied with it.
I have purchased the gray shade, 9.5-12, several times. It is very easy to use. It worked perfectly on my bleached blonde hair that had fading color. After using the toner, my hair felt smooth and looked shiny, like after using a hair mask.
However, it did not work on my boyfriend's bleached hair. But when we tried it on his bleached and dyed hair with a different color, it noticeably restored the color - so we used this toner again and it worked great. I'm not sure what determines its effectiveness. But this toner has always been helpful for me.
I wanted to dye my hair because a few gray hairs appeared. The "0" effect. But the texture of the mousse itself is convenient for application. Regular toning masks do a better job at toning.
I do not recommend this product. I purchased it in size 9.5-1. However, it had absolutely no effect.
My wife used to buy the 5mousse shade, and it used to color her blonde hair. Now we bought the 3:0 shade, but we didn't get any tint on her medium blonde hair.
I used the 9.5-12 shade on my completely bleached hair (specifically lightened for this purpose) and it only created a few dirty spots, while the rest remained white. Unfortunately, if you want to achieve an ashy look this way, it is an expensive and unsuccessful method. This foam was overly advertised by beauty gurus. This "miracle" mousse turned out to be a waste of money and hope.
I ordered shade 9.5-12. Honestly, the hair should be almost white for it to appear gray. My root area (shade 9) is not lightened enough, while the rest of my hair is shade 10. So, shade 10 turned out great, a beautiful clean gray color, without any patches of blue or green. But shade 9... it ended up being more of a cool blonde rather than gray. The product has a small amount of usage (on wet hair), but it fades faster than tinting dyes. Personally, I will be purchasing it again.
I really like this mousse as it gives my hair a cooler, more vibrant shade. The ingredients for adding shine to my hair also do their job well, leaving it looking salon-fresh. However, it doesn't actually change the color, so it's just a fun extra.
I ordered your mousse and was not satisfied. They promise one thing, but in reality, it's not at all like they claim. The color after dyeing is simply terrible. It's a pity that I wasted my money.
This is a great product. I tried it on my lightened hair in shades 9.5-4 (it was barely noticeable) and 7.0 (this one worked perfectly - it gave a very noble dark ash blonde shade). It fades after 3-4 washes for me. I only need to use it once every 7-8 times on my hair below the shoulder blades. I highly recommend it.
The 9.5-12 mousse on my lightened hair gave a smoky violet shade ON THE ENDS, but didn't color the entire length - how is that possible? :))) It's definitely not the ashy tone I wanted, maybe I should leave it on for less than 40 minutes (like I did) and it will fade after 2-3 washes. The consumption is very high: I dyed the upper part of my hair and used up half of the jar. I won't be buying more.
I have highlights, and I want to get rid of the brassy tones. If I apply it to all of my hair, it won't give a shade on dark hair.
I purchased shade 3-0, the darkest shade in the palette. This product is much easier to apply evenly onto the hair compared to liquid or cream toning balms. The scent is chemical, but very weak and pleasant. The resulting shade looks incredibly natural, you would never be able to tell that the hair has been tinted. There is also no unwanted "redness" in the color, which you often get with most temporary dyes. Dyed hair does not stain towels and the mousse washes off the skin very easily. For shoulder-length hair, about a third of the bottle is used in one application, maybe slightly less. As for the downsides, the shade does not match the one indicated. On all websites, shade 3-0 is shown as a truly dark shade, closer to coffee, but in reality, the product tones the hair by only one shade. As a result, you end up buying a dark-brown shade to achieve a beautiful, but medium-brown result. I understand that the product should not be too radical, but all dark temporary dyes before this one worked perfectly on my hair, just like in the pictures... Also, there is no neutralization of yellow tones in the mousse, even though it contains a fair amount of blue dye (the product appears bluish-violet when applied). There is no nourishing effect at all, but at least it didn't excessively dry out the hair. Overall, the product is simply perfect in terms of ease of use, but the shade and hair care are much better with similar products (which are also noticeably cheaper). I'm not sure if I will purchase this mousse again.
I disagree with the categorical reviews about gray hair. Maybe if the hair is completely gray, the effect will be weak. I don't have so many gray hairs yet, but without dyeing, they are quite noticeable. It covers the gray hair about 4 times, with a coloring frequency of once every 2 weeks. If you look very closely, you can distinguish where the gray hairs were, but only I can find them. From the outside, they are not visible at all. I mixed 3-0 for the roots and 5-0 for the ends.
I am extremely disappointed! I purchased the mousse in shade 9.5-12 and applied it to my fully bleached white hair. However, it did not color or take hold at all. I tried applying it multiple times, but it only resulted in a few gray spots at the ends. Just to clarify, my hair was completely clean and bleached white. I feel like I wasted almost 300 hryvnias on this product! It's really frustrating :(
One jar is not enough for very thick hair that reaches just below the shoulders. It is easy to apply and the color (9.5-4) is truly beautiful and natural.
This product is good, but it does not cover gray hair.
Makeup is always on point!! As for the foam, I can say it's not bad, a 4+ rating. For long hair, it's an expensive pleasure - cheaper to dye it. The first time I didn't know and applied 8-77 (copper) in not a very large quantity, so it was partially dyed. The second time, without holding back (let's have some fun!), I left it on for 20-30 minutes. The hair dyed evenly and beautifully. For hair slightly below shoulder length and medium thickness, this bottle is enough for 3-4 times. It's good to have for emergencies.
I have tried shades 5 and 7. I really liked the mousse, one jar is enough for at least 5 uses on my not very thick hair, which reaches just below my shoulders. The fifth shade turned out to be very dark and intense, but it washed off quite quickly. The seventh shade was hardly visible on my hair, but still, my porous hair got filled with pigment, became heavier, and had a better shine. I will definitely buy it again.
Not for me, it didn't work well with my hair at all! I bought the ash color! But my hair became silky smooth afterward :)
It is not recommended to choose cool shades for lightened or gray hair, as they can give a blue or green tint. For example, shade 3-0 will give a blue-green tint on lightened hair, as it is intended for dark hair. However, it makes dark brown and chestnut hair much brighter and shinier. On red hair, the reddish shades cover gray hair perfectly and last for about two weeks until the roots grow out. Shade 4-68 gives a beautiful chocolate tone on light brown hair, while shade 5-99 gives a violet tone. Shade 8-77 gives a vibrant red on light hair, but it is important to choose the shade correctly and be cautious, especially for lightened hair. Don't expect to go from blonde to brunette; at most, you can achieve a two-tone difference. This product is ideal for toning or adding brightness to your natural hair color. It doesn't leave a dirty tint when washed out, unlike regular hair dye, and it doesn't damage your hair. With my light brown hair, I change shades like gloves without damaging my hair. The color gradually fades away within 2-3 weeks. The light shades are only visible on very lightened hair.
This is a good product with a very pleasant smell and a reasonable price. However, if you are a natural blonde or have lightened hair, it will not make you even slightly chestnut. It also dries out the hair and even turns it green, so I would not recommend taking the risk.
This product is absolutely useless! It doesn't damage your hair, which might be its only advantage. However, it doesn't work at all. The shade is barely noticeable, even if you leave it on for 40 minutes. It washes out after the first use. It's best to apply it on dry hair. I do not recommend it!
If you want a more gray, ashy shade, then you need the 9.5-12 Moonstone, not the 9.1. Leave it on for up to 30 minutes after complete application, depending on the desired color. Good luck!
I purchased the 7.0 shade to cover my sun-damaged ends. It does tone them, but not very strongly, and only until the first wash. Perhaps I made a mistake with the color choice and should have gone darker. However, the positive aspect is that it doesn't leave a red undertone, so I would give it a 4 out of 5.
