Vitamin C Suspension 23% + HA Spheres 2% Serum - The Ordinary Vitamin C Suspension 23% + HA Spheres 2%
I didn't buy it here, but it is 100% original from the USA, but I will leave a review! Ladies, this is a disaster. I have normal skin that tends to be more on the dry side occasionally, and I have no problems at all. This product is very greasy (I use it at night), it doesn't come off at all, and it also burns a lot. There are granules that feel like a scrub when applied. Just a 1 out of 10. If you endure the pain and don't wash it off, leaving it overnight, there is one plus - your skin will be soft in the morning. BUT it's not worth it at all.
Overall, I really like this company and I use more than half of their skincare products. However, I will look for a different company for vitamin C. This product doesn't absorb well and tends to roll off, leaving a constant feeling of dirt on my face throughout the day. The scent is also unpleasant and reminds me of dirty rags.
After being educated and familiarized with the compositions of mesococtails, I didn't pay attention to the negative reviews that can be found even on impeccable products. I purchased this wonderful product with a professional percentage in its composition, which is quite difficult to find. I am very satisfied with it as it leaves my skin perfectly smooth, soft, and lightens all imperfections (spots, etc.). However, this doesn't mean that everyone can apply it to their skin and then complain. Take some time to study it if your skin is very sensitive to even the slightest acids. The percentage is high, and in order to dilute it, you need to understand the compositions. Definitely a full 5 stars. I hope this product doesn't disappear from our favorite online store.
I have been using acids for about 7 years. And it was only with this product that I managed to burn my skin after just 2 applications. Not only did I have dry and red skin that itched and peeled like a snake, but I also had breakouts like a teenager, which I hadn't had in over 10 years. Moreover, the consistency is really strange - there are lumps, and it's also greasy. It's like mixing baking soda in oil. Be careful, even though I did a patch test, it didn't protect me at all. If your skin is sensitive to the ingredients, it's better not to use it. I didn't expect this from this brand.
I didn't buy it here, but I'll leave a review anyway.
I tried this product several times and I was disappointed. I initially bought it as a body treatment, but I won't repurchase it and I don't recommend it to anyone.
When applied to the face, it causes a strong burning sensation, even more than products with vitamin C and acidic pH. My skin is used to acids like glycolic and lactic acid peels from The Ordinary, so it's not too sensitive.
The serum's base is squalane, which makes my skin softer in the morning, and I liked that. However, the vitamin C itself is in a very high concentration, which irritates my skin.
The texture is also unpleasant, but if it weren't for the burning sensation, I would continue using it. That's not the biggest drawback though.
I recommend using gentler and safer products for the face. However, I'll give it another chance as a body treatment and use it on my back. Maybe it will help lighten pigmentation after breakouts.
I didn't buy it here, but I'll still write a review :)
I used it about 6-7 times. I didn't understand the effect. The consistency is terrible, so I can't use it regularly. Maybe the product is great if you go through a course, but you need nerves of steel for that.
It makes my face very oily, there are tiny particles in the mixture, and it's impossible to cover it with cream because they just mix together and don't absorb on their own or with cream on top. In the morning, my pillow is sour, and my hair becomes greasy. It's just inconvenient, that's all :)
I didn't notice any effect at all, just a terrible burning sensation on my face.
I have normal skin with a few small acne spots.
After using the serum, it didn't fulfill its purpose as none of the acne spots lightened.
I only used half of it, and I won't buy it again. I didn't like the consistency, it was a liquid emulsion with powdered vitamin C. There is discomfort when applying it, because the particles irritate the skin. However, the product helped with skin pigmentation.
I have been using this serum for about a week now. I have combination, non-sensitive skin with very pronounced pigmentation. The pigmentation appears in the summer and is very persistent. I constantly use acid-based skincare products, so my skin is accustomed to them.
In this serum, or rather suspension, there is a high concentration of vitamin C, so it can sting if the skin is not used to acids. You can mix it with other skincare products to reduce the concentration and minimize the stinging sensation.
After a week of use, I see a wonderful effect - the pigmentation has significantly lightened. I have never seen such a quick and visible effect, although I have experience using many brightening products and procedures.
In terms of effectiveness, it is great and a must-try for those who suffer from pigmentation.
As for the texture, when it comes into contact with the skin, it transforms into an oily consistency and contains fine particles. I bought it as an addition to my morning skincare routine (even though the description says it can be used in the morning and evening, the manufacturer recommends using it as an evening treatment). The serum is a bit greasy, so it definitely cannot be used as a makeup base. I always make sure to apply SPF50 on top of it. I am still testing it in different variations - using it alone or mixing it with other products, but I haven't found the perfect method for myself yet. Maybe I will start using it as an evening treatment after all.
In conclusion, the product is excellent in terms of its effect and brightening properties. The only issue is with the texture, which requires some adjustment.
I applied it overnight on acne-prone areas, following the recommendations. However, I constantly felt a burning sensation. The last time I used it, my face started itching unbearably - it felt like a facial burn. It has been three days now and the itchiness still hasn't gone away.
I did not like it. I have combination skin. This product comes in the form of a cream, but it has some kind of granules, like sand... When you apply it to your face, the product rolls off the skin. It is unpleasant to apply to the skin because of its specific composition, like sand on the face. It stings... I do not recommend applying it around the lips, as it really dries out the skin. I will not purchase this product again.
I have sensitive skin, so I decided to start with a 23% vitamin C. Here's an honest review: The serum came in the full volume, all 30 promised ml. I was pleased with the packaging - the tube was sealed with foil, like toothpaste :) The scent is strong, but only if you "sniff" it. The consistency is almost like a moisturizing cream, making it very convenient to apply on the skin, plus it's economical to use. The sensation on sensitive skin is a slight tingling that fades over time. I took my friend's recommendation, who is a cosmetologist, as an alternative to the inkey list, so you can confidently try this serum.
I recently bought this "serum," but it turned out to be a suspension, as stated in the English version. It is a white suspension made of small particles of ascorbic acid and some kind of base. It doesn't absorb into the skin, but instead forms white clumps. Why does it cause a burning sensation? It feels like having sand on my face. I regret spending money on it and falling for the reviews. I increasingly doubt their authenticity.
The first few times, it pinches, and if there is any scratch, it also feels like a burn. Maybe it's just me, but there seem to be fewer wrinkles, especially noticeable on the forehead. The consistency is very strange, takes quite a long time to absorb, and for me (combination skin), it's quite greasy, so I only use a small amount. When it runs out, I will definitely buy more.
It caused a breakout on my skin, definitely not suitable for sensitive skin.
The serum is effective. The skin becomes more matte and cleaner, BUT! During the first two weeks of use, there were breakouts, but after that period, everything improved. Now I use it 1-2 times a week at night. If you have acne or pore problems, it is better to seek treatment from a doctor rather than self-medicate. You can harm yourself. The serum is an excellent option for already healthy skin!
Cons: It clogs pores horribly. After 10 days of use, black spots appeared everywhere, even in places where they weren't before. The skin itches for several minutes after application.
Pros: It moisturizes well. The product has no scent.
I will not buy it again.
Today I purchased a serum. I didn't experience any awful smell, as mentioned in the reviews. On the contrary, I'm pleased that there is no unpleasant fragrance. It does slightly tingle my skin and there are some redness, but the manufacturer has warned about it, so I hope it will go away in two weeks as stated.
I'm not sure about the effectiveness, but the smell is awful, like rubber (although not all scents from The Ordinary are like this).
The texture of the skin is indeed smoothed out by this serum, but I have never in my life experienced such clogged pores as when using it.
