Retinol 0.2% In Squalane Face Serum - The Ordinary Retinoids Retinol 0.2% In Squalane
The serum is fantastic. I didn't buy it here. Whoever claims that it causes breakouts simply doesn't understand what retinoid dermatitis is. This serum actually helps to alleviate any underlying skin issues.
On insensitive skin, there was zero effect, a higher percentage of retinol is needed. The oil itself initially did not absorb into the skin, but later started to absorb. I did not notice any changes on my facial skin.
I didn't buy it here. I have been using it for 2 weeks and it causes terrible breakouts with painful pimples.
I am very satisfied. There is indeed an effect in fighting breakouts. It does not dry out the skin if used with moisturizing products. For example, use retinol in the evening and a moisturizing cream or serum in the morning.
Yes, after starting to use it, breakouts do occur, but it is normal. After applying retinol to problem skin, it may become slightly red and all the underlying pimples come out. Then, the condition of the skin noticeably improves.
If you only have a foaming cleanser, moisturizing cream, and this retinol, you will see results. Personally, I noticed an improvement in my skin when using only this product, but adding other products made no difference. Therefore, a downside is that adding additional products doesn't change anything.
I didn't buy it here. Well, what can I say, the oily base is terrible. It's very inconvenient to use, takes a long time to absorb, and if you don't apply cream on top, it doesn't absorb completely. At first, as promised, it dried out my cheeks and around my mouth. Then my skin got used to it. I should note that this is not my first retinol product, so I don't see any results, it irritates more than it provides positive effects. I won't buy it again. It's worth adding that the consumption is small and the shelf life after opening is short. So, in 3 months of daily use, you probably won't even use half of it. Well, it's a matter of personal preference, in a nutshell.
In my opinion, this product is absolutely useless. After applying it, I always experience breakouts, which last for about two weeks.
Very economical consumption is the only positive aspect of this product. I understand that it should have a oily consistency due to the retinol, but when applied, it is not absorbed by the skin at all, even after waiting a certain amount of time... no moisturization or anything, and it's impossible to apply any cream on top of it! It just makes me want to wash my face immediately after application... that's why I use it on my body, so it's not as wasteful. Maybe it's just not the right "form" of product for me, because I've used retinol in cream before and everything was great.
To be honest, I didn't understand the point of this product. It just made my face oily without providing any hydration. After using it for a month, there was no change either for the better or worse.
Dry, pigmented skin. 35+. This product is absolutely perfect. No irritations, no breakouts. My face looks fresher and fresher every day. I use it at night, wash it off in the morning, apply toner, SPF, and nourishing cream.
