The serum is great for basic care, even though it contains regular alcohol. It is very lightweight, non-greasy, doesn't cause breakouts, and is economical to use.
I have used both this serum and the brown one. Personally, I do not like them. They contain a lot of glycerin, which leaves a film on the skin and makes the serum feel heavy.
