Sun Cream Gel - La Roche-Posay Effaclar Duo [+] SPF 30
Unfortunately, I am disappointed with this product. I have been using it for 2 months now, and at first, everything seemed fine, but now I understand all its drawbacks. It clumps up as soon as you apply it, and the advice to "use less product" doesn't help because it's impossible to spread it on the face if you use even less. There is a persistent greasy shine that doesn't go away. My skin started to burn, and I thought it was just my skin reacting, but my partner also experienced the same. I am disappointed.
I ordered this product in August and used it for a month and then stopped.
The product reduced the number of blackheads on my forehead, but on my cheeks, it caused all the closed comedones to turn into painful pimples that I can't heal.
The product is quite dense and greasy. I do not recommend this product because it incredibly slides off after 10 minutes of application. I have oily facial skin, and it was horrible. It made my skin even greasier and caused redness. After using it, all the pimples itched.
It's better to buy this product without sun protection. It has a much lighter consistency and doesn't slide off or feel heavy on the skin.
I completely agree with the comments below. The cream is greasy. It moisturizes well, but it makes my skin feel like a pancake and the cream gradually slides off. I believe that the quality is absolutely not compatible with the price. I understand that it is imported, customs fees, etc. But all products from this brand do not cost that much. Moreover, they even increased the price instead of offering a discount during Black Friday. The ingredients are poor, many products contain alcohol. I would rather pay an extra 200 UAH and buy, for example, the effective Dr.Ceuracle with a perfect formula.
The cream has a very greasy texture and is not suitable for oily skin at all. The face starts to shine after just 30 minutes of applying it. However, the cleansing gel and toner from this line are not bad, but the creams are terrible.
I really liked the cream, it has a pleasant texture and scent.
Out of the entire product line, this is the most effective one. When compared to other manufacturers, it stands out. I have used it as a cream, and it works quite well in the spring and fall. It is a bit heavy during the summer and light during the winter. It also works well as a spot treatment. As a spot treatment, it is also good, but for example, Genosis Intensive works with just 1-2 applications, while this one takes 2-3 days. It doesn't even out the texture.
I have used La Roche-Posay Effaclar Duo (+) and was satisfied with the result, so I ordered this product for the summer period expecting the same outcome. Unfortunately, it did not work for me. The texture of the product was too greasy and caused breakouts, which took a long time to get rid of. Therefore, my impression is mixed.
I bought this cream at the pharmacy, but I would like to leave a review. I have used a similar cream without SPF, and it suited me well. However, this SPF cream feels completely different on my skin - it feels like it leaves a greasy film (the last time I simply went and washed it off with my face wash because it was so uncomfortable). I will not use it anymore and will throw it away. I am very disappointed. Additionally, the scent is the same as in other products of this SPF cream, and I do not like it.
For problematic skin, this is exactly what you need for the summer. The La Roche-Posay Effaclar series has been a perfect fit for me. I use it in combination with the gel, micellar water, and tonic.
I bought the wrong one, but I still want to leave a review.
This product is really cool, and it has a neutral scent. I have combination skin, which is also aging and prone to breakouts. This cream mattifies my skin nicely. Throughout the day, there is less greasy shine after applying the cream. Additionally, my skin feels moisturized and pleasant to touch. I highly recommend it to those who cannot find a cream for oily skin, especially during hot weather.
Finding a sunscreen for oily skin is quite a quest. I bought this one as an addition to the Effaclar range. The cream is thicker than the Effaclar Duo without SPF. It is white and gives a shiny and greasy look to the face. It tends to roll off slightly when applying foundation. However, I am willing to tolerate these inconveniences as long as it doesn't cause breakouts.
This SPF didn't work for me. It smudges even if I apply it alone, let alone with foundation on top. It's a complete disaster. It also causes a burning sensation in dry areas of my face.
The worst sunscreen I have ever had, in comparison to it, Nivea SPF for 200 UAH is better, it brightens the skin, but after a few minutes, it peels off.
The cream has a very pleasant texture and spreads nicely on the face, absorbing within a few minutes. The only downside is that it is impossible to apply foundation or even concealer on top of this cream, as they will slide off. I have combination sensitive skin prone to acne; there hasn't been a decrease or increase in breakouts or inflammations, and there were no allergic reactions. Overall, it's a decent cream.
I'm not sure what to say at the moment, it seems decent but it rolls up horribly. I can't figure out how to fix it, or maybe it's just impossible to fix. There are no other downsides.
If you can, please let me know how much of the product should be used, is it like all sunscreens, two finger lengths, or can a smaller amount be used? This is a very important question!
Since the tube is too small for the price, and if you use two finger lengths it's not economical at all.
I have been buying this cream for a while now. It was recommended to me by a dermatologist. Initially, I used the effaclar cream from the same series without SPF, but it didn't work for me during the fall-winter period. My face became too dry, even with my oily skin. So, I decided to buy the cream from the same series, but with SPF, and I really liked it! During the summer months, it doesn't clog my pores like other creams, and my face remains matte for a long time. In winter, I don't feel any dryness. Therefore, it's definitely a top choice!
P.S. During the summer, I use the face cleanser from the same series, but for winter, I switch to a softer one to avoid drying out my skin.
The cream turned out to be a lifesaver for me because I was already convinced that I wouldn't be able to find something pleasant for my face during the summer that also provides sun protection and doesn't clog my pores. This cream is an alternative to the one without SPF, so if you find the regular Effaclar suitable, then most likely this one will also work for you. On top of it, I apply La Roche-Posay Toleriane Teint powder, and occasionally use blotting papers on my T-zone if needed, and my face looks natural and presentable.
"This cream is amazing, I really loved it! It works perfectly considering its price."
I bought this product half a year ago and only used it twice. I had a terrible allergy reaction all over my face. This brand's product line is generally very good, and I've been using their products for a while now. However, I had an allergic reaction specifically to this particular product. Before using it, I highly recommend conducting a patch test on your hand.
The cream itself is not bad. I have issues with sebum on my forehead and nose. It helps to get rid of this flaw, but not for the whole day. I apply it at 8 in the morning, and sebum starts to appear around 4 in the evening. However, I don't regret buying it at all because it's really awesome.
Good cream, I am satisfied. It removes post-acne spots, tightens the skin, and moisturizes well. I have already bought it for the third time. The only thing is, for some reason, I broke out on my chin (I don't know if it's because of this cream), so I stopped applying it to that area and the breakouts disappeared. If there is any local inflammation, it all clears up overnight with this cream. Overall, I recommend it.
I don't know how to evaluate... I bought it, and then I read on the box: a cream advertised as a care cream plus sun protection. That's why I bought it when the sun became active. But on the box itself, it is stated that the product is not a complete sun protection. And during sun exposure, another protection product should be used. So why do I need this duo plus with protection if I still have to apply an additional one? Based on this, I will not buy it anymore and cannot recommend it to others. It's better to buy a full-fledged cream or serum for problematic, oily, or sensitive skin. Moreover, serums or emulsions can often be applied around the eye area, but not this duo plus with sun protection. So, I will have to buy eye protection separately. And here I bought the duo plus with sun protection. And now I have to buy another sun protection product... which I could also use for the eye area. Or buy a third protection specifically for the eyes. It turns out that the money was wasted. I should have just bought the duo plus without sun protection. I still have to buy a complete protection anyway. Imagine this: duo plus with SPF 30 and on top or bottom, another sunscreen... Today, I spent three hours in the sun with the duo plus with sun protection in Kiev, not on the equator. A lot of freckles appeared.
I have tried La Roche-Posay Effaclar Duo and it's a great fit for my combination skin. As spring approached, I decided to try their version with SPF. Unfortunately, it didn't work for me. I read recommendations suggesting to apply it on moisturized skin, but regardless, it applies very poorly, feels tight, and tends to roll off the skin. The consistency of the cream is thicker compared to the non-SPF version of Duo. I will have to wait and see if it provides adequate sun protection.
This product is excellent, with an optimally selected SPF30 protection factor, making it the best option for Ukraine. Some people might think it will be greasy, but I can assure you that this greasiness quickly disappears after application, so this effect is temporary. It also provides good support for skin prone to breakouts.
My favorite product, it suits my dry problematic skin 100%. That's why I've been using it for several years. Everyone is different, but I recommend it to girls with problematic skin.
This cream is exactly the same as the one without SPF, just with SPF. It gives me a nice matte effect and provides hydration without feeling heavy or leaving a film. I decided to try this cream because I quickly develop pigmentation due to acids. I was hesitant to buy it because of the many negative reviews, but I hope my positive review can help someone else avoid pigmentation issues. I have combination skin, and if a cream is even slightly heavy, my skin doesn't accept it and it immediately becomes sticky, causing redness and enlarged pores. Finding the right product can be quite a challenge.
My favorite cream used to be the Avene Light Moisturizing SPF 20, but it was discontinued and I've been searching for a replacement ever since. The Avene SPF 30 was also a bit heavy for me.
I'm currently testing the Effaclar SPF 30 and so far, it seems good. I now have all three versions of Effaclar - the regular one, the one with foundation, and the one with SPF - and I like them all.
I also really like the La Roche powder, I've been using it for many years. I got shade 11 for winter, and shade 13 is great for summer.
As always, everyone's experience may vary.
I didn't see any positive changes when using this product. I have combination skin with an oily T-zone. It leaves a greasy shine, even with minimal product usage. It doesn't work on imperfections. I won't be purchasing it again.
It was a perfect fit for me. I bought it for the summer, but I will definitely repeat it for fall and winter. To prevent the cream from rolling off, it is necessary to cleanse the skin thoroughly. The skin looks fresh with it. Like any SPF cream, I remove it with cleansing oil and foam.
Terrible. I used the same product without SPF. Bought it for the summer, but it remains unused. It rolls off no matter how much I apply. It clogs pores and makes my face shine horribly, accentuating all the imperfections.
After two months of continuous use, I can provide an honest review. This product is EFFECTIVE!!! It started working after a week of use. Pimples and acne completely disappeared within a month. Then, even old blemishes from acne disappeared (honestly, I thought they would stay with me for life). Before using it, I cleansed my face with the gel foam from the same series. Now, I only use the cream once a week. No more pimples or breakouts appear. This is a SUPER EFFECTIVE product!! It is economical to use, as a little goes a long way. There are no downsides. It also helped my husband. Now, I recommend it to everyone who has problematic skin.
I used to use Effaclar Duo before and everything was great. But now I started using this product and something is very wrong. It tends to roll off my skin, especially on my chin, leaving behind a lot of white flakes. It's impossible to apply any other cosmetics on top of it. After applying it, I can't even touch my face because it immediately starts to clump up. I tried using more and less of the product, but nothing changed. I don't apply anything underneath it. It's really disappointing.
I have ordered for the second time. I am pleased with the entire range for oily and combination skin. The results are noticeable within 2 weeks.
The product is excellent for post-acne marks. Even after the first application, there are noticeable results. I am definitely satisfied ☺️
I really liked it!
Excellent product! I highly recommend it.
I am very satisfied! I was worried after reading reviews that the face might shine too much after application, but the cream looks great on the skin. There is no greasiness, rolling, or peeling. The scent is stronger than the usual duo and reminds me more of SPF products from La Roche Posay. It immediately brings pleasant associations with the sea :)
I bought it at a pharmacy. Since I am currently using effaclar serum, I decided to try the duo+ with SPF for sun protection. Unlike the regular duo, this one has a creamy texture instead of a gel. However, it leaves my face shiny and not aesthetically pleasing at all, so I deducted one star for that. I guess I could use effaclar mat to mattify it, but then the SPF, which should be applied last, won't have the desired effect. I can't say that I am completely satisfied because my face looks greasy after using it.
