As the night sky hides all the beauty of bright constellations, Memo Russian Leather Eau de Parfum is filled with exquisite leather notes that reveal the fantastic composition of this masterpiece. The talented Alienor Massenet was the author of a charming fragrance for whom playfulness and versatility are distinctive features in perfumery. This creation is no exception: the versatility of accords is just as harmoniously combined.
The olfactory pyramid of Memo Russian Leather Eau de Parfum:
Top notes open with basil, fern, rosemary, sage and pine.
Heart notes reveal a hint of leather incense, coriander, lavender and mint, seasoned with a fresh coniferous smell.
Base notes blend rich nuances of tonka bean, cypress, nutmeg and patchouli.
This is the second Memo perfume I own, in sample form, and it's absolutely wonderful! It features a sharp, spicy wood base that opens with bursts of herbal freshness. The fragrance lasts a long time, especially on hair and clothing, where the base notes linger for at least a couple of days. It doesn’t sit too close to the skin but doesn’t overwhelm you or those around you either.
Personally, if I had to point out a downside, it would be the longevity of the leather notes, which faded after about 40 minutes to an hour on me. However, the exquisite wood notes more than make up for it in my opinion.
The perfume is marketed as unisex, but it leans more towards the masculine side, so keep that in mind if you're buying it blind.
The price seems steep, but the perfume is very economical; I only need two drops from the sample for each use.
For those who enjoy experimenting, I tried combining it with Memo's Tiger's Nest, and I really liked the result.
