  • The timeless classic of complex yet wonderfully alluring oriental fragrances is the renowned Guerlain Shalimar eau de toilette. First introduced in 1925, it remains one of the most coveted scents among luxury perfume enthusiasts even today. Its composition intertwines vibrant essential and sensuous floral notes with the austere aromas of leather and wood. Guerlain Shalimar encapsulates the true legend of the incredible love story between an Indian shah and his beautiful consort.

Guerlain Shalimar belongs to the "oriental" and "floral" fragrance families. The composition opens with a bright citrus duet of lemon and mandarin, accentuated by the spicy notes of bergamot and the woody hints of cedar. At its heart, playful notes of iris, jasmine, and rose blend harmoniously with vetiver and patchouli. The base notes carry the essence of leather, vanilla, sandalwood, incense, musk, civet, and the resinous opoponax. Both stern and seductive, this fragrance makes hearts beat faster.

In my Shalimar toilet water, the scent of incense and wax is prominent. It starts off strong and then becomes softer, but it can be smelled throughout the entire day. The longevity of this fragrance is impressive. This time, I opted for the perfume version from ES, and it is very long-lasting, dense, and feels like a precious elixir. It is a masterpiece that time cannot ruin.

I used this creation throughout the cold seasons, from autumn to spring. It was brought from Germany, and there is not even a hint of forgery.

Considering that I love Guerlain for their "dresses," their tooth-crushing sweetness, longevity, and sillage, I absolutely did not like this fragrance. No matter how much I tried to figure out what makes this "luxurious" fragrance special, I couldn't find anything. I understand that everyone has different tastes, so I'll just share my own opinion.

The opening is killer! A million receptors explode in my nose from the initial notes, and tears well up in my eyes. No, I'm not actually crying.

It resembles a rubber melting factory with a touch of frankincense. You need to hold your breath for the first few minutes, or even better, step out onto the balcony and give yourself a little spritz; otherwise, your head will start to ache at that very moment.

I'm waiting for it to develop. But it doesn't! And there is no scent either. Absolutely nothing after about forty minutes. So, from the moment of application, you just endure the stench, and after half an hour, it doesn't smell like anything. Great, the torture wasn't long-lasting. God forbid using this elixir in the summer, it will knock out both yourself and those around you.

In conclusion: no development, no longevity, no sillage.

There's nothing more to write about. If the smell of burning rubber for forty minutes brings someone pleasure, then you're truly cool! As for me, I've put the bottle away for now and will take it out when mosquitoes arrive. I hope my review is useful to someone.

Fans of "Guerlain dresses," look for something more enjoyable.

Bergamot launches with its power and breathtaking sillage. There is so much of it that it seems like there are no other notes in the perfume. It quickly fades into the base on me, and there... You can get lost. The signature Guerlain undertone is enchanting. By the way, in the base, you can detect the same vanilla as in the aged classic Mon Guerlain (I have both, they are identical in the base). The longevity is average for such a "monster," but it satisfies me. I apply no more than one spray on my collarbone. The sillage is very pleasant. My husband, without knowing that it's my new Shalimar, said it smells expensive and very sexy (I'm 31, he's 35 years old). I don't hear any grandma's, grandpa's, or other trunks. Undoubtedly, lovers of Imperatrice, Bright Crystal, and similar fragrances will hardly appreciate Shalimar, but if you hear it once and you like it, then that's it... Any other perfume will always be compared to the grandeur and power of this classic.

I bought it here, but it was still winter. It's a prestigious, expensive, and legendary fragrance, but the initial scent is very sharp! It's a must-try! Apply it at least an hour before going out, as the rubbery notes overpower the others at first. But when it unfolds, it's beautiful - in my opinion, the bitter vanilla takes center stage... I even sleep in it.

I am trying this fragrance for the first time and immediately hit the mark. It is a divine classic that will never go out of style. I love oriental scents and I understand that Shalimar will become a favorite. In it, I can detect frankincense and some spices, creating a cozy aroma.

I finally received my package from the EU. I am familiar with the scent and I love it. It didn't immediately captivate me, but from the second sample, I was hooked. It is something magical and unusual, yet cozy and warm at the same time. The batch code is fine, not expired. Thank you to the store for the festive mood!

First encounter with a legend. I thought long and hard about where to begin, and I decided on the EDT. The first spritz on the blotter - it seems like I hit the mark, hello tires.... After an hour, I decided to apply it to my wrist. It still managed to captivate me, even from the blotter. On the skin, it unfolds completely differently. Yes, the infamous tires are present, but in a much smaller concentration and they don't repel, rather they spark curiosity about what's next?... And what comes next is that in the eau de toilette, the floral and citrus notes are almost nonexistent for me, but instead, there's an oriental tale of sun-warmed sandalwood with a hint of vanilla and a touch of powdery cloud. In short, love happened on the second try, or maybe the first if we don't count the blotter. I don't recommend trying to understand this perfume from paper alone, as the impressions are very different. As for longevity, it lasts all day on the skin and remains noticeable on clothing for several days. The store's service, as always, is top-notch :)

I really love the fragrances of this brand, so I've been slowly testing and trying them on myself. Currently, my favorite is "Elysian Fields." I decided to buy the famous "Shalimar" - I didn't dare to get the perfume, but I am very satisfied with this version! It reminds me of oriental incense. I once bought aroma sticks with vanilla, and it's very similar! I'm very happy that I took the risk, even though I bought it without testing it first. I caught myself smelling my wrist and enjoying it until the evening after the test.

I have heard mixed reviews, but I really wanted to have Shalimar in my perfume collection. It is suitable for a special occasion or mood, but a preliminary test is obligatory.

I didn't buy it here, but I decided to write a review. Oh, it's love at first sniff. The scent is multi-faceted and complex. It reminds me of an Eastern fairytale, but without excessive sweetness or overpowering spices. There's a hint of bitterness. Its longevity is excellent, it lasts all day on me. The jar is small, but it lasts a long time.
