I've been using this paint for a long time and consider it the best. I'm waiting for shades 8.0, 8.21, and 9.03 to be available. Please email me when these shades are in stock.
The price of this hair dye fluctuates like stock prices in the global market. It was 680 UAH, then dropped to 460 UAH, then to 310 UAH, and went back to 460 UAH—all within 10 days. Exchange rates don't fluctuate this wildly. In Europe, Majirel costs 8 euros and there are plenty of options. Makeup, what's going on with you?
As for the dye itself, it's one of the best, if not the best. It's the thickest I've encountered, doesn't drip, and is economical. A 50 ml bottle of L'Oréal is enough for me to touch up my roots twice (whereas with some Italian dyes, I need 100 ml for two applications).
It has a mild scent, noticeable but not overpowering, and is gentle on the hair. The colors are very beautiful, better than those from Inoa, which I find flat and uninteresting. The dye fades gracefully and can cover spots on blonde hair as long as it's not too damaged.
For the last few years, I've been using the level 6 shades. I use Majirel 7 and add a quarter of a level 6. Pure level 6 shades are very dark, especially with a 3% developer. If I use a 6% developer, then I stick to level 6, of course. However, even with a 3% developer, the dye covers gray hair well, so I don't see the need to use 6%.
Is shade 6 Dark Blonde 50ml equivalent to Majirel Cool Cover?
Hello, girls.
I want to update my review from December 9, 2023.
I decided not to give up and looked at many online resources regarding coloring for gray and stiff hair. I understand that a high-quality dye should definitely cover gray hair, but there are professional nuances, and diluting 1:1.5 with 6% oxidant does not always work well.
I discovered for myself:
- Mordonsage for preparing my stiff hair with stubborn glassy gray hair (pre-treatment of hair). In my specific case, L'Oreal oxidant 3.75% for 20 minutes (10 minutes on the roots + 10 minutes on the length, under film and slightly heated with a hairdryer).
- Pre-pigmentation to fill the bleached gray hair with dense pure pigment (tone 6.3 warm base diluted with warm water 1:1 for 20-25 minutes under film, did not rinse the oxidant after treatment, slightly dried with a hairdryer).
- Coloring with tone 6.35 + oxidant 3.75% in a ratio of 1:1 for the entire length of the hair over 6.3, which I used for pre-pigmentation. Leave it for 25+ minutes (at this point, you should already assess your own hair).
In the photo, you can see the result, the gray hair and bleached strands are completely covered, and the color is even. But I wanted it to be even lighter.
For the future, I will follow the advice of colorists and use a base for pre-pigmentation that is 1 shade lighter than the desired result, for example, 7.0 for pre-pigmentation and 6.35 for coloring.
I can advise all girls who have problems with uncolored gray roots, "root dyeing," glassy gray hair, and/or uneven color - learn the methods recommended by professionals, watch tutorials on YouTube, and experiment with your own hair. Make sure to write down or remember step by step the whole process to successfully reproduce it the next time.
I am attaching a photo.
But my experiment is not yet finished. :)
I also have a request for Makeup: hair dye is an important thing, sensitive to the stable availability of a full palette. The last time I ordered it from another city because it was not available here. Please keep at least a few shades in Ukraine so that the necessary colors (especially basic 4.0, 5.0, 6.0, 7.0) are not "out of stock".
This is a great hair dye that doesn't dry out the hair. I have been using shades 8.0, 8.1, 8.31, and 8.13, which are all beautiful shades of brown.
Everything is great, the paint is excellent, I have been using it for many years, and it was delivered on time.
This is a hair dye for girls with no experience. I don't know what's wrong with me or my hair. Before this, I used to dye my hair with L'Oréal excellence 5.15 for about 10 years - everything was fine, my hair was dark chestnut, about 50% gray, roots for 20-25 minutes, length for 5-10 minutes.
This time, I used 4.8+5.8 and 6% developer with a ratio of 1:1.5. Gray hair barely toned down, it looked like root touch-up. Today, I tried the advice from other girls to use a 1:1 ratio and it covered the gray slightly, but it's still visible in the light.
I sincerely believe that a certified specialist in a salon can work wonders with this dye, but think three times before using it at home.
I'm deducting stars because it's my own fault, but the dye, prepared and used according to the instructions, didn't cover the gray. I'll have to go back to the drugstore because getting worse results for three times the price is not a good option.
The paint has been perfect for me; I've been using it for many years and have never been disappointed. However, it's true that the price keeps increasing, and right now it's very high for this amount.
The paint is of good quality, but I didn't notice right away that it was only 50ml, so it might not be enough for those with long hair. I bought shade 5.52, but it turned out to have a red tint instead of the chestnut color I wanted. Now I have red roots instead of chestnut hair. For those like me who are not familiar with the numbers, take note. However, the paint is still great.
The paint is very high quality. I compare my experience with Matrix and Farmavita, which are also not bad, but Majirel 4.0 has the perfect dark chocolate shade, without any red or reddish undertones. It is an even and expensive shade that perfectly covers gray hair. The 50ml volume was enough for my long bob. When washing off the paint, it feels like the hair is coated with something. My usual shampoo (Loma) doesn't lather as well, even on the second try, but the hair remains elastic and smooth. I used it with the matching oxidant. I'm thrilled.
The paint is of good quality. It nicely covered the gray hair. I am satisfied with the purchase. Thank you MAKEUP for the fast and quality service!
I bought some hair dye in shades 8.0, 9.0, and 9.13. Everything is excellent. The quality is superb. The hair dyes well with 12% oxidant. They have a healthy appearance. I have been using this dye for 3 years. No complaints. Only positive reviews and thanks to the manufacturer. The delivery was great, as always. Everything is superb.
I tried the 5.12 hair dye to go two shades lighter from brunette. However, it resulted in a reddish color which I was trying to avoid. After dyeing, my hair lacked shine, unlike the Loreal Preference dye. The outcome did not meet my expectations.
I really like this paint. I have been using it for several years.
I really liked this hair dye, and my first impression was "Wow!" I bought the shade 4 and mixed it with L'Oréal 6% developer in a 1:1 ratio (as indicated in the instructions on the website for covering gray hair). In the future, I will update my review regarding how quickly the color fades. Here's why I liked this dye so much:
1) The color is very nice and natural, even though it's just a level 4.
2) The mixture was thick enough in a 1:1 ratio, making it easy to apply (I'm not a professional, I dye my hair at home), and it doesn't run.
3) It doesn't have a strong smell, despite being an ammonia-based dye.
4) It doesn't stain the skin (with other brands, I've had instances where my ears and scalp were also dyed).
5) Immediately after dyeing, my hair feels soft and not overly dry.
Before purchasing, I read reviews mainly about lighter shades. For those interested, shade 4 in this dye is truly accurate - a dark brown color (without a red undertone or being too black).
Good paint! My hair was severely damaged, but after using it, my hair looked great. The shade 7/11 is fantastic and looks amazing on healthy hair. It doesn't wash out on healthy hair, but it won't hold on damaged hair without pre-pigmentation.
I ordered with delivery from the EU and it arrived in about 10 days. The color is rich and very nice, but there is one problem... My hair feels like it's been treated with botox or keratin, as if the conditioner hasn't been rinsed properly. It becomes greasy along the length by evening and I have to wash my head every day. I don't know how long this effect will last, after the third wash the problem has reduced but hasn't completely gone away.
My favorite hair dye, I am currently using it in shade 5.8. It gives a beautiful chestnut color with a warm undertone. My hair shines, and this color looks absolutely fabulous in the sunlight. I am satisfied with the results.
I have been using this paint for a long time. It is of great quality and I would rate it four out of five stars.
I have been using this paint for many years. And I know why not everyone likes it. Try mixing the developer and the paint in a 1:1 ratio, instead of 1:1.5 as instructed. I guarantee excellent results. The color is much more vibrant. For gray hair, mix the base colors with the main one.
This was my first time coloring my hair on my own, without going to a salon. And I am thrilled - with the color! with how soft my hair feels. I achieved a "golden wheat" shade with a 6% developer. By the way, the instructions are very accurate in stating that if you have unbleached hair, using a 6% developer will result in a shade lighter than your hair tone, while using a 7% developer will result in a shade 4 tones lighter.
Great paint. The color is very natural, scoring a 9.0. The hair feels soft and shiny after dyeing.
I have already written a review about the first hair dye, and now I am writing about the second one again. The pros are that the color is natural and the hair looks shiny. The cons are that I had to dilute the dye with 1/1.5 of a 6% Loreal developer, it is very thick, and as a result, a lot of dye is used. The second downside is that the color turned out to be nowhere near blonde when using the shades blonde (7.0) and very light natural blonde (9.0). It didn't match blonde at all and I am attaching a photo as proof.
The paint is excellent! Thanks to Mayka for the choice. Although the paint took about a week to arrive from Europe, they did warn me about it, so I have no complaints. Just keep in mind that it may take longer to arrive when you order. I chose the shade 9.21 with 9% developer for my 2cm grown-out roots. My base color is a level 5-6, and the rest of my hair is lightened to levels 11-12, but it had some yellow tones from previous coloring with Inebrya 12/22. I was tired of the yellow color, so after washing out the previous dye, I wanted to darken my hair a bit. Based on the reviews here, I was choosing between shades 10.21 and 9.21, but I made the right choice with 9.21! Before applying L'Oréal Majirel, I did a decoupage treatment on my roots for 15 minutes, and then on the rest of the hair for 5 minutes, to remove any remaining dye and even out the color. For the decoupage treatment, I mixed 30g of Prifistal powder bleach with 90ml of 3% developer in a ratio of 1:3. I learned this technique from my hairstylist lessons in the past, so I may not have done it exactly right. However, I am satisfied with the result and the quality of my hair. In the future, I plan to only dye my grown-out roots every 3-4 weeks with L'Oréal dye, without pre-lightening with bleach. I used half of the 50ml tube of dye for the first application, mixing it with 37.5ml of 9% developer, and applied it to the roots and 5cm along the length. Then I used the remaining 25ml of dye and 37.5ml of 6% developer for the rest of the hair. It might have been better to use 3% developer to achieve a denser color on the already blonde/yellow length of my hair and to make it last longer. Now I will wait and see how quickly the color fades and what it will look like after 3 weeks.
Great paint!
At 10:21, a yellowish hue appeared, transitioning to 9.21, and it settled perfectly. It turned out slightly darker and created a smooth blend. This paint is good; you just need to apply it correctly.
The paint is excellent, the store's service is top-notch, and everything was done very quickly!
The paint is good, and it leaves the hair soft. However, there is one downside: the color obtained from mixing shade 7 (blonde) and 8.31 (light golden ash blonde) is a combination of natural dark roots and light ends. In reality, it appears as a shade of dark blonde with a hint of red on the roots. It was supposed to be lighter than blonde. Next time, I will choose a lighter shade.
I have been using this hair dye for two years now and I am very satisfied. Previously, coloring my hair was very problematic for me as I would constantly end up with burns. Now, it has become a pleasant procedure for me. My hair is soft and the color is even after coloring.
Thank you, Makeup, for the fast delivery.
This hair dye is excellent, especially for covering gray hair. I only use this one. It doesn't damage the hair, it doesn't irritate the scalp, and it adds shine. Excellent! I highly recommend it!
The quality is good. It covers the grey hair well.
This is a great long-lasting paint. Please let me know when the number 10.1 will be available.
The paint is amazing, I highly recommend it. The delivery was fast. Thank you, MAKEUP.
Quality - good, hair is still good too, color - unexpectedly bright (this is not a negative, BUT THE SHADE ON THE PICTURE HERE - is absolutely different pink - 26, Amber bronze).
Minus 2 stars for the smell. I cried while dyeing, it's impossible to breathe, the pungent smell of ammonia hasn't diminished for a day. Glori's for 30 hryvnias smells much nicer.
I used the shade 10.12 for toning my previously lightened blonde hair. Here's the result in the photo. The quality of the hair is superb.
I ordered paint number 3 in a cherry package, but it came in gray. It doesn't cover gray hair as well and washes out quickly. I am disappointed and will not order it again! Also, the price on the website is lower than what I paid.
The quality is excellent! Hair looks great after using L'Oréal Majirel hair dye. I highly recommend it!
The quality of L'Oréal Majirel hair dye is excellent, and it leaves the hair looking wonderful. When washing, it fades moderately, which is a good thing.
I actually prefer the new format! It has become my favorite! As a blonde for over 10 years, I have tried many things, but this one is the most gentle and also quite effective. Thank you, Makeupchik, for the gift, it was very nice of you.
It works well for tinting, but it is not suitable for lightening roots.
I have been using this hair dye for several years, both at the salon and at home for touch-ups on my roots. The results were excellent in the first week after coloring, but then the color would gradually fade. I thought it was just a peculiarity of my hair. So, I switched to a different brand of dye, which provided a stable color but made my hair dry. About a month ago, I decided to go back to Majimel 6.23 and dyed my hair with a 6% developer. Initially, I was very pleased with the outcome, but after two weeks, the light reddish roots reappeared, even though I am naturally a brunette. Then, a dark stripe appeared, followed by splotchy color. Overall, this will be the last time I use this product.
I do not recommend this dye for those with a large percentage of gray hair. It does not completely cover gray hair, but rather tones it and quickly washes out. I am in search of a more long-lasting dye. However, the hair looks natural and has a healthy appearance. Nonetheless, it is important for me to cover the abundant gray hair.
Good paint. I have been using it for many years.
This is the worst hair dye I have ever tried. I have used various brands such as Palette, Wellaton, and Excellence. The last one I tried was Color Touch. But this one is a disaster, it feels like I have a mop on my head instead of hair. The entire length of my hair is horribly dried out. And this is with a 6% developer. I left it on for 20 minutes. It darkens by at least two shades. The only positive thing is that it covers gray hair. However, my hair is now completely damaged.
I bought this for my spouse. It covers the gray hair well and lasts for a long time. It's a good product!
Today was the first time I used paint number 3. I mixed it with the oxidizer according to the recipe. I kept it on for about 40 minutes. The color turned out fantastic, it perfectly covered the gray hair! Let's see how long it will last. I toned the lightened ends with the Collistar mask. I recommend both products and the MakeUP store! Thank you!
For gray hair, this hair dye is really good. I've been using it for years. I haven't found a better one at this price yet. I highly recommend it, especially for those with more than 50% gray hair.
The paint is simply amazing! I chose color 10.21, it doesn't dry out my hair, and I am satisfied! It is now my favorite!
It covers gray hair. In my opinion, it's better than Estel.
Wonderful paint! Stunning range of colors!
Excellent, high-quality paint. I have been using it for many years, I use 5.0. It gives a natural hair color, doesn't dry out, and gives a vibrant, healthy shine.
Great paint. I got shade 5.1. I always use Loreal, but this time I tried Majirel and I'm not disappointed. I used it with the original developer in a 1:1.5 ratio. First, I apply it to the roots and leave it for 20 minutes. Then I wet my hair's length in the sink and dilute the remaining paint slightly with water, spreading it along the length. I sit for another 20 minutes with a plastic bag on my head. The effect is amazing. My hair looks like diamonds. I covered my gray hair perfectly. The color is beautiful. There are no visible demarcation lines around my hair. I'm satisfied with my purchase. I highly recommend it.
I bought the shade 8.0 and it turned out to be a mediocre brown color. It looks somewhat natural, with a slight hint of brown, but it ended up making my hair look reddish. Additionally, it dried out my hair and made it feel straw-like. As for its staying power, I will have to wait and see. Considering the price, I expected better results. There are other products out there that are both better and cheaper.
The hair dye is nothing special, the hair becomes terribly dry, brittle, and lifeless after coloring. I chose shade 8.12, but the color did not meet my expectations, just like the dye itself. Now I have to treat my hair with masks and oils. There were a couple of gray hairs, but it didn't cover them, even if I left it on for 30 minutes or an hour.
The paint is simply incomparable! I chose shade 8.34. If you want a perfect golden red, I recommend this shade. It's my first time using it and I'm not disappointed. My hair was a bit dry at the ends after using Estel dye. But after dyeing with this one, even during the rinsing process, my hair became shiny, soft, and manageable without any additional products, balms, or masks. It's better than before coloring. I'm thrilled. The color is even, there is no difference between the roots and the main strands at all. I will only use this dye from now on. The tube and oxidizer are more than enough. More than necessary for one application. The makeup is always excellent, everything is according to schedule and plan. I recommend it to everyone!
I really like this hair dye - it doesn't damage my hair and it effectively covers the roots. I purchased three shades: 9.23, 9.13 - and they turned out exactly as shown in the photo (using a 6% developer). I also tried the last shade, 10.21, which is a very beautiful tone. I used the same 6% developer because I didn't want a strong blonde - it resulted in a natural light ash blonde with a lovely shimmer. I appreciate that it doesn't leave any yellow tones on the roots and provides an even coverage.
The paint is very good, better than any I have bought before. I bought two shades and the developer of the same brand, 9%, really lightened my hair by 3 tones. I will continue to use this paint in the future. The website works well, the staff are polite and helpful. I am satisfied with everything, and thank you separately for the gift, it was very nice. Could you please tell me if I can continue using the 9% developer?
I followed the recommended time mentioned in the instructions, but it didn't completely cover my gray hair. My hair color is light brown, and I used shade 8.0. Unfortunately, the gray hair is still visible all over my head.
I decided to try this paint, choosing the color solely based on its number. And... I guessed right!! It doesn't have that strong smell like non-professional Loreal dyes. It doesn't drip, completely covered my gray hair (!), and the color is just WOW. I'll see how long it lasts, but for now, I'm extremely satisfied. I didn't expect such a great result.
"It excellently covers my gray hair about 80%. I only purchase this product."
I used Crashus 6, but after a year, the color became darker. Now I will dye my hair with number 7. The price and delivery were excellent. Thank you. By the way, I have a question about the toning spray for number 7 or any tinted balms (to maintain the color). Has anyone tried them? Also, the Majirel palette is darker than regular paint palettes.
