Prepare a disinfectant for your fingertips (such as a cotton swab soaked in 70% alcohol), along with a piece of paper towel and a watch to measure the time needed to read the test result.
Before testing, thoroughly wash your hands with soap and warm running water. Fasting is not necessary. Ensure the test is at room temperature before starting. Follow the instructions in the testing guide carefully.
Open the aluminum pouch and take out the test strip. Place it on a flat surface. Discard the desiccant, which is also in the pouch, into the trash.
Remember to perform the test within an hour of opening the aluminum pouch.
Remove the lancet and pipette from the packaging. As the name suggests, the lancet will be used to prick your finger, and the pipette will be used to collect blood from the finger for analysis.
Gently massage the finger you will prick for at least 30 seconds.
Disinfect your fingertips and then wait 30–60 seconds until the skin on your fingertips is completely dry.
Remove the protective cap from the lancet by turning it 90°.
Place the lancet on the fingertip and press until you hear a "click" sound. This indicates your finger has been pricked.
Lower your hand with the pricked finger down to form a large, full drop of blood. You may also gently squeeze the pricked finger on both sides to help blood flow to the fingertip more quickly.
Hold the tip of the pipette horizontally to the blood drop without squeezing the pipette or the fingertip.
Due to capillary action, the blood will flow into the pipette automatically. Keep it against the blood drop until the pipette fills up to the black line. Avoid creating air bubbles inside the pipette.
Once the pipette is filled, place all its contents into the round window on the test strip. Wait until all the blood is absorbed by the strip.
Take 3 drops of liquid from the solution bottle and place them in the test window.
You can read the test result within 15 minutes after adding the solution.Do not consider the test result after more than 30 minutes have passed.
