The Menopause Test is a rapid test designed to detect FSH hormone levels in urine at a concentration of 25 mIU/mL or higher. It's simple to use: either dip the test into a container with urine or place it directly under the urine stream for 15 seconds, and read the result within 3 minutes.
Indications for the test:
- Fatigue;
- Hot flashes;
- Mood swings;
- Discomfort;
- Dry skin;
- Joint pain;
- Decreased libido.Menopause typically occurs between the ages of 45 and 55. During this time, the production of estrogen and progesterone decreases, while levels of LH and FSH hormones increase. The test works by detecting elevated FSH hormone levels in the urine of women in perimenopause. Menopause is defined as the last menstrual period in a woman's life, followed by 12 months without bleeding. This significant event can only be confirmed retrospectively. Symptoms preceding the last menstrual period can begin 2-3 years earlier and may persist for several years after menopause. This entire span is referred to as menopause or the menopausal transition. During perimenopause and for 12 months following menopause, many women experience symptoms such as hot flashes, night sweats, dry skin, joint and bone pain, discomfort during intercourse, recurrent urinary tract infections, episodes of urinary incontinence, insomnia, fatigue or depression, irritability, and decreased libido. In menopause, reproductive functions cease as the ovaries stop functioning, leading to a decrease in female sex hormone production, primarily estrogens. Concurrently, the body increases the production of follicle-stimulating hormone (FSH). Measuring FSH levels aids in diagnosing menopause.
