Aleppo soap is considered the oldest hard soap in the world (predating black and Marseille soaps) and is crafted using an ancient method that has been practiced for centuries.

Unlike regular soap, Aleppo soap does not contain surfactants that are harsh on the skin and the environment. The skin does not become so "contaminated" that it requires these chemicals. Aleppo soap also contains no dyes or preservatives. It is a high-quality natural product that is gentle on both the skin and the environment.

The main ingredient in Aleppo soap is olive oil, renowned for its cleansing ability when saponified. The olive oil used in Najel soap production is obtained through the first cold pressing, ensuring it retains all the properties of the olives.

Aleppo soap is made from late November to late February, involving the heating of the oil for several hours with the addition of a small amount of water and natural soda. At the end of the cooking process, saponification is completed, and laurel berry oil is added. The resulting mixture is rolled and cut into cubes, which are then stacked in "towers." These are left for 9 months to mature, dry, and harden.
