First, thoroughly wet your hair with very hot water (the hair has a protein structure similar to a "spike" - hot water opens the "spike" scales). Apply a small amount of shampoo (about a teaspoon) and thoroughly massage it into your hair (you can dilute the shampoo slightly with water in your hand). Rinse out the shampoo and apply conditioner or rinse. Comb through with a wooden comb. Leave the conditioner on your hair for a few minutes. Rinse with hot water.
