Acqua di Gioia Intense — a refreshing new addition to Giorgio Armani's fragrance collection. This sparkling scent masterfully captures the essence of an endless and vibrant Italian summer. It immerses you in the atmosphere of boundless sunshine and the turquoise waters of the Mediterranean, perfectly embodying the unique spirit of the region. Its allure is enhanced by a new contrasting bottle, now featuring graduated shades of green.
Top notes transport you to a seaside retreat, where the gentle sun greets you and the waves lap warmly at the shore. Hand-picked Calabrian bergamot blends with a fresh breeze of juicy red fruits and the tang of raspberry in an exhilarating opening.
Heart notes feature a bouquet of delicate Damask rose petals, which in the heat of summer captivate with a vibrant array of slender buds. Joining the queen of flowers is grandiflorum jasmine, adding rich and honeyed accents.
Base notes evoke the endless warmth of a Mediterranean summer day once more. A soft and sensual woody-musk base is subtly accented by warm cedar, creating a lasting "second-skin" effect.
These perfumes are incredibly long-lasting. On a scent strip, they remain noticeable for about a week, and for the first two days, they filled the entire room with their fragrance. They also have great staying power on the skin. The scent feels oddly familiar, like a blend of classic Di Gioia with My Way or La Vie Est Belle en Rose. There's nothing "revolutionary" or with a wow factor, but they simply smell beautiful and luxurious, with the hallmark of high-quality L'Oréal luxury perfumes. The composition is denser and sweeter compared to the flagship scent, though its "DNA" is still recognizable, especially at the start. The Intense version lacks the watery transparency, mintiness, and freshness of the classic Di Gioia, instead offering a hint of raspberry bitterness in the base. I could imagine this fragrance in a dark pink bottle rather than the bright green one it comes in. In summary, it's perfect for true fans of classic Di Gioia, especially as an option for evening wear or cooler weather, since the flagship version doesn't perform well in winter, while the Intense version will be noticeable.
