Part your hair as you normally do, either to the side or in the middle. Take two sections of hair from each side of your head, each about two fingers wide. Loosely twist the sections at the back of your head where the two parts meet. While holding the twisted sections between your thumb and index finger, gently open a hairpin horizontally with one hand. Carefully insert the hairpin upwards against your scalp. Always move the pin in the opposite direction of the part to secure the hold. Always insert the hairpin using just one finger.
