If you're searching for something truly niche with a powerful and captivating trail, Amouage creations certainly deserve your attention. The Lineage composition is a blend of spices, salty aromas, and mineral warmth. According to the creators, this is a fragrance of meditation and a journey far from home, to become closer to oneself through solitude. The perfume unfolds on the skin in a rather unusual way, playing with bright ginger, sparks of citrus, woody-powdery notes, and something reminiscent of iodine-rich seaweed.
Top Note seems to urge you to break free from the chains of everyday life with a sunny and warming trio of ginger, saffron, and Sichuan pepper with its mineral undertone.
Heart Note conveys that sense of self-unity through a combination of myrrh, incense, and sweet fenugreek.
Base Note completes the experience with a soft, enveloping light, like a warm sunset. Here, you can still detect the salty nuances of incense with myrrh, labdanum, warm benzoin, and smoky vetiver with patchouli.
I haven't fully understood it yet, but I like it. The initial notes are bright and rich. I somehow detect white flowers with a creamy hint, sprinkled with pepper and ginger, even though there are no flowers in the fragrance notes. It reminds me a bit of Amouage Honour Woman. However, this scent feels like it's on a seaside or a salty pier, almost as if Amouage Beach Hut Woman is nearby, and there's a distant hint of smokiness from burning incense. Overall, it's a sweet-salty-fresh fragrance that's unusual and intriguing. In the coolness of spring, it feels very appropriate, and it might be even better in the summer after it has settled more. Like all Amouage fragrances, it definitely needs to be tested, as it's not simple and unfolds with many notes over time. The longevity, as always, is excellent.
Personally, I find this incense to be quite lovely. More specifically, it has a pleasant church-like aroma.
