A foundation that always lays down flawlessly even. A foundation that doesn't create a mask effect. A foundation skillfully concealing imperfections and highlighting assets. All these praises are in honor of the innovative Water Drop Tinted Foundation by the popular Korean brand Holika Holika.
Its unique fluid consistency spreads evenly across the skin, not settling into pores or highlighting fine lines and flakiness. Natural lotus extracts, vitamins, and bamboo juice replenish the lack of vital moisture within cells, have a pronounced anti-inflammatory and sebum-regulating effect, preventing the treacherous shine in the T-zone. Adaptive next-generation pigments adjust to your skin tone, even out the complexion, and mask redness and pigmentation. The cream boasts a velvety-glowing finish, looking maximally natural even in photos and video shoots. The SPF30 PA++ protection level guarantees minimization of ultraviolet radiation impact.
This is one of those cases when thanks to negative reviews, you find the perfect foundation!
1. I have fair skin and it's usually difficult for me to find a shade that doesn't make my face darker than the rest of my visible skin. Shade 01-Pure Skin is a perfect match for me!
2. I don't use a primer, but this foundation applies flawlessly. It even makes my large pores less noticeable. I've tried other foundations that made my pores appear as white dots on my face, but that's not the case with this foundation.
3. Most foundations (even those claimed to be for oily skin and supposed to mattify and last all day according to the labels on the bottle) dissolve on my super oily skin within the first 1-2 hours. However, this one stays put for at least 6-7 hours. I haven't tried it for longer yet (except maybe once during this time I need to touch up with powder), but I can honestly say that there are only 3-4 foundations as long-lasting on my skin.
4. I apply it with a sponge, not my fingers, because all foundations tend to apply unevenly on my skin when I use my fingers. But with the sponge, I have no issues at all.
5. If you press the dropper all the way down, yes, it will dispense all the product it has gathered (which makes sense!). If you press it little by little (again, using a sponge), it dispenses a small amount each time.
CONCLUSION. I definitely liked it and will repurchase it. I recommend it to those with a similar skin type to mine.
Oops, continuation: God forbid you apply it without a primer (and a silicone-based one) - it sinks into pores in an instant and turns your fresh young face into a mummy's. Suddenly, a bunch of flakes appeared on my skin that weren't there before applying! From a distance, my face still looked fresh, bright, and healthy (but I'm nearsighted)) - but up close, it was a complete horror! You could see bits of plaster, pores, flakes, and uneven patches, as if someone had whitewashed a tree in spring.
Okay, I applied it over a Sephora primer. It did improve, that's true. But still, shade 3 is very light (well, on me, it's extremely light - I could play a vampire) - plus, my healthy, well-groomed, moisturized skin looked way worse with this foundation than without it. Usually, I don't use foundation at all, but sometimes I need it for a special glow, so to speak. This thing didn't enhance me, rather, it did the complete opposite.
Oh, by the way, the application with the dropper is very generous - half a drop is enough to smudge both your face and neck, and your hands will also get dirty (and a single pump press is not half a drop, but 3-4 drops at once, so be careful).
In short, before testing this foundation, I was confident that I had very good young skin. But this foundation did everything possible to prove me wrong.
All in all, I don't recommend it.
"I can't believe it!" was the first thought that came to my mind when I tried this product. I even used a couple of expletives.
I got it in shade 3 - healthy skin (supposedly for a healthy complexion). My skin is not pale, but also not dark, just a moderate medium tone. It lightened my complexion so much that I looked like an actress in a Japanese Kabuki theater! But that's not the only issue.
