Awful product. It applies in chunks, as if I smeared Play-Doh on my lips. I bought three shades, and all three of them apply horribly. It also feels like Play-Doh on my lips.
This chocolate-scented product is amazing! It stays on my lips all day long.
In search of a matte lip gloss alternative, I came across these products. Therefore, this review will partially include comparisons. I chose the colors that were available in Ukraine (05, 08, 15). The Compliment shade was more nude and calm, suitable for everyday wear. It had a bit more pink and was brighter than the brand's swatches (so don't expect it to be a basic nude gloss). Shades 05 and 15 are similar on the lips, but 05 leans more towards plum and fuchsia, while 15 leans towards peach. Both shades can be worn on any given day. Shade 08 is a deep burgundy color, which looks nice but tends to streak (even with 2 coats, it can be seen in the photo). Also, in the comments section of the swatches, there are Essence lip liners in shades 05 and 06. The lip gloss in shade 05 is slightly darker than the lip liner, so I'm not sure if it's worth getting them as a pair or how they will look in the sunlight. In terms of consistency, the lip gloss is thicker than the Compliment brand, but it applies well. However, while the Compliment lip gloss has a completely matte finish, the Essence lip gloss has a velvety finish and will leave imprints if a tissue is pressed against the lips. But the Essence lip gloss is more long-lasting than the Compliment brand, and it takes some effort to remove it from the lips. Overall, I would give these products a solid 4.5 out of 5.
The lipstick is pretty good and feels nice on the lips. It's a shame that I didn't choose the right shade.
The lipstick is excellent, although I thought it would be lighter. Shade 05.
