Miller Harris Oud Eclat Eau de Parfum

Created by perfumer Emily Bouge as a new addition to the Private Collection, Oud Éclat is a fragrance of contrasts. Aiming to present oud in a different light, the perfumer crafted a scent she herself would wear. This unique unisex composition balances all notes equally within the fragrance structure. The inspiration came from studying the process of creating a crystal. To create something beautiful, both light and darkness are necessary. Therefore, in an attempt to shed new light on the oud ingredient, it had to be showcased among contrasts. For this, a note bringing a hint of sweetness was added alongside oud, tagetes, fir balsam, and a blend of woods. The perfume belongs to the woody, musky, and amber fragrance families.

Top Note opens with one of the most precious oud accords. The scent is truly unique: musty, nutty-woody with exotic depth. In the fragrance pyramid, it can be heard in combination with a cashmere wood accord around a bouquet of tagetes. This spicy-aromatic element, derived from marigold flowers, adds warmth to the fragrance.

Heart Note reveals how the fragrance evolves over time, developing a more complex and mysterious structure, where a sugary maltol accord blends with shimmering ambrette, fir balsam, and nutmeg to add a complex, almost ethereal emotion to the scent.

Base Notes of musk and moss unfold together with the continuation of the sugar note, maturing even after the first spray. Unlike many traditional oud fragrances, maltol imparts a sweet caramel note that complements the richness of oud.
