Fragrances have the power to awaken memories and stimulate the imagination. With their help, we can momentarily return to the past.
The top notes are the first scents you'll detect immediately after lifting the wooden lid or lighting the candle, characterized by aldehydic-green shades and coniferous tones. Top notes of fragrances are intensely aromatic but their scent quickly evaporates, giving way to... the heart notes!
The heart notes, also known as middle notes, are the scents you'll start to notice about 10 minutes after lighting the candle, as they freely fill the room, blending with the base notes, which I'll discuss in a bit! Heart notes play an extraordinarily important role in perfume compositions—they give the fragrance depth and character. These include: spices, star anise, and floral notes.
The base note, as the name suggests, forms the foundation of the perfume composition. While they are not the most intense notes, they provide a backdrop for all other fragrances used. In this candle, these are: musk and tonka bean.
