For a deeper clean, soak the sponge in a solution of equal parts warm water and white wine vinegar for up to an hour, then rinse thoroughly and air dry. This will keep the sponge fresh and prevent bacterial growth. Avoid using the sponge with oil-based products, as this will cause it to deteriorate.
