First, be sure to clean and dry your nails properly. Start from one of the outside corners and file toward the center. The file is good, when I used it only for myself - it lasted almost half a year. Now I also use it for my mom and sister, and I try to get new ones every time. It's not that it stops filing, but the abrasive wears out quickly in the area of active use and it looks somehow unpresentable.

This product is not aggressively harsh, which makes it very gentle on the cuticles. I used it to remove old gel polish, then I applied one coat of gel and later filed it off again and applied a different one, all in one go. The cuticles were unharmed, and both the gel polish and the gel for extensions were easy to file off.
