It does not lather well, provides a slight massage, is long-lasting, but stretches when wet. It sheds, and I hope it does not lose its properties and eventually stops shedding. Generally, it has a normal level of firmness, but due to the shedding, there are short "hairs" that can be unpleasantly prickly.

There are no wooden handles, it crumbles and stretches. The sponge is quite stiff for me (which is good), I can't say that it cleans poorly. It's a solid four for now. I don't know how long it will hold up.
