I have been using this product after using a "heavy" cleanser, and it works gently while keeping my skin relatively clean. After a couple of weeks, there has been no sign of blackheads. The consistency of the product is thick, and there is enough pressure for it to be used on the face, neck, and décolletage. As for the retinol, I can't say for sure if it is effective based on the cleanser alone, but I have not experienced any typical negative effects of retinol, such as dermatitis or dryness.
The gel is soft and jelly-like in texture. It does not dry out the skin. Regarding makeup removal, it is more suitable as a second step in cleansing or for morning cleansing. I liked it. It is an excellent product considering its price.
