The "Black Velvet" granulated wax by Beautyhall is designed for effective skin depilation with any method. It excellently removes hair both in the direction of growth and against it, making it invaluable for professionals in sugaring and waxing. Its coal-black color is a great choice for specialists in barbershops: the more rugged appearance of the wax won't unsettle male clients, ensuring the master can work efficiently and calmly. This film wax is rosin-free and has a low melting temperature, which significantly reduces the time needed for the procedure.
Features of Beautyhall Hot Film Wax Black Velvet:
- Melts at 38-40°C (100-104°F);
- Medium density;
- When melted, it forms a pliable mass that is easy and even to apply on the body;
- Suitable for sensitive skin, as it reduces the risk of thermal burns;
- Perfectly removes short and coarse hair;
- Excellent adhesion;
- Ideal for hair removal in delicate areas — bikini, underarms, face, and deep groin;
- Suitable for sugaring and waxing.-
Heat the wax to a temperature of 38-40 °C. Apply it to the skin using a spatula. Leave it on the skin until it hardens, then remove the wax with a quick motion, without using special paper. It is recommended to apply talc to the skin before using Beautyhall hot wax granules.

I couldn't figure it out either. I struggled for quite a while on both hard and soft hair, using thin and medium layers, whether it was partially set or still liquid. I tried removing it immediately and after it had set, thinking I just needed more practice since I'm not very experienced. But as soon as I switched to a plum-colored wax from another brand, everything worked perfectly. I won't throw it away and will give it another try, but I don’t really see the point when another wax works flawlessly right away.
In its price range, this isn't the worst option, but you can find slightly more expensive yet better ones. I've used it for depilation twice now, and once again, I'm keeping this wax "just in case." :D
Pros: The price is affordable; the color is a plus (for some reason, I find working with darker wax more effective, and there aren't many black wax options on the market, although this one isn't particularly rich in color when applied). It sets quickly, which might be a downside for some, but it effectively removes medium-length and long hairs, though it struggles with shorter ones at times.
Cons: It's not flexible at all, so you have to apply a relatively thick layer to remove it properly, which leads to higher consumption, but that's not a major issue. It also tends to stick to the skin, making it difficult to remove. The melting temperature is another concern—when the wax reaches a comfortable texture for application, it becomes too hot to apply properly. Once it cools down, it becomes very inflexible.
Overall, you can adapt to these quirks, but for those new to self-depilation, it's better to look for something more flexible to avoid potential issues.
I really liked it; it's easy to use and performs well. I'm satisfied with it.
The product hardens quickly, so you need to get used to it. Otherwise, it's just as good as any other wax.
I used this wax for the first time. The process seemed very time-consuming to me. I usually use an epilator, but hair grows back more slowly with the wax. I plan to continue experimenting with it.
I bought this product to try something new for work. I also picked up the "Pink" one from the same line (I'll leave my thoughts on that one under its product page). Overall, I agree with the first review. As a depilation specialist, I would add that the wax is versatile because it can be applied both in the direction of hair growth and against it, and it performs well either way. Another important point is that this wax is great for those who use fast or spatula techniques. However, if left on the skin too long, it can dry out and start to crumble. Like with any material, working with this wax requires skill and practice.
The wax was terrible; it crumbled and stuck to the skin, and the results were disappointing.
This is an interesting wax. It's pliable and sets quickly. It's not too hot, and the strips come off cleanly without leaving any residue or crumbs. You just need to get the hang of working with it and avoid overheating.
