As a fan of light floral-fruity "cocktail" scents, I was pleasantly surprised by this fragrance! Probably because it has very few woody notes and doesn't have a bitter edge. It's perfect for hot weather - just delightful! I rarely like unisex fragrances, but this one really hits the mark. The longevity is excellent! Some people mention it smells synthetic... That's odd. Were you expecting to smell like the natural sea? In short, it's a well-blended, high-quality fragrance.
Nothing seems to clean it off. I tried washing it with soap and dish detergent, but it still smells so strong it’s suffocating. It's synthetic.
Here I am again, having purchased another bottle. The scent seems similar to the original (I bought it at a discount for 6,131 UAH). Currently, it's much more vibrant than the sample. I'll give it some time to settle. Everything seems fine—the box looks like the original, and the batch matches, but one thing concerns me. Why is the hologram, which is inside the packaging and used to verify authenticity, missing or torn off from the sealed bottle? There are remnants of it, specifically torn edges. Where did it go? The cellophane was sealed, but it's possible to carefully reseal it without leaving traces, so I can't fully trust that. This raises some questions. Someone has definitely tampered with it, perhaps that's why there was a discount. I can only hope the bottle wasn't swapped. The scent is weak for now; we'll see how it develops. I'll update later.
I would describe this fragrance as a dark, turbulent ocean in a bottle, filled with various seaweeds that have been lifted from the depths. It's either turbulent or even stormy. Some people say they don't sense the sea in it, but for me, it's exactly that—fresh, salty air, and it's incredible
I didn't buy it here, but I want to leave a review. The fragrance is amazing and long-lasting! It is advertised as unisex, but it definitely has a masculine scent. I bought it for myself, but it wasn't right for me. Luckily, it suited my husband perfectly.
Here's a coherent translation of the product review:
"An expensive and beautiful fragrance with a great aroma. I don't really detect the sea notes much. It's not something that feels familiar to me, but it's memorable and not for the masses. That's why I love it. Although, many people recognize and name the scent. It's something you want to savor, just like the pleasure of wearing it. As someone who once owned 105 bottles of perfume, I'm very happy to have narrowed it down to two: Megamare and Santal 33 by Le Labo."
I was on the hunt for a fragrance that truly captured the essence of the sea—realistic, without synthetic notes. I read numerous reviews, some negative, but decided to take the plunge. Many recommended applying it sparingly, just on the wrists. My initial impression was mixed; it didn't feel like my scent. It had a strong iodine note, followed by musk, which lingered for nearly a day. My grown-up daughter amusingly compared it to a sunken pirate ship! However, this was on a warm spring day, which made the musk particularly prominent.
After five days of daily use, applying it just once a day, the fragrance began to reveal itself. Importantly, I discovered that it truly shines in cool, damp weather. Living by the sea, it evokes the deep, salty ocean in late autumn with fog and chilly winds. That's when it feels perfect. In such weather, the musk fades into the background, leaving the scent of sea salt—similar to Tiziana Terenzi Akragas but without the Mediterranean floral notes, instead with deep-sea algae. It's a lasting scent, and even after swimming or showering, a hint of its unique aroma remains. This is an incredibly intriguing fragrance that unfolds its character over time.
These perfumes are amazing! They're long-lasting and fresh, with an incredible ocean scent.
I really dislike this fragrance...... The longevity is great, but just a couple of sprays gave me a strong headache.. to the point of feeling nauseous.... Definitely not for me!
I will also leave my review because I have a different impression of this fragrance. Yes, it is long-lasting, and yes, it smells great from the first notes. However, after 20-30 minutes, it becomes only musk and it doesn't go away. God forbid you overdo it with the dosage, then everyone will really pay attention to you...but with what thought? Make sure to test it! Maybe it will be more suitable for men... I wish everyone to find their own scent!
I bought my Megamare in Poland, but I will leave a review. I was very hesitant before making the purchase, especially because it was rarely available. I took a risk and ordered it without testing it. It has been over six months since I bought it and I have no regrets about taking the risk. On the contrary, I would buy it again! I would describe it as an "explosive freshness". It is very long-lasting. Several times, Polish people asked me what scent I was wearing and said it was great. It is my second fragrance "identity". (The first one is Enzelad, but that's a completely different story). Second place in my perfume wardrobe - out of the 150 perfumes I have. I highly recommend Megamare, as well as other Orto Parisi perfumes.
The fragrance turned out to be extremely naturalistic. For those who took their first steps on the seashore and the sea is an integral part of your personality, this is a must-have. It accurately captures the smell of seaweed covered in shells, washed up on the shore by the waves and dried by the sun to a salted stick state. It has an incredibly long-lasting trail, my colleagues on three floors know my entire commute route. It is extremely strong and long-lasting - just one spray on the wrist is more than enough, otherwise, you will suffocate everyone. I recommend starting with a sample because it is very distinctive. I bought my bottle not here, but in Italy.
In my opinion, the beginning is like a full immersion into an aquatic world, but after 20 minutes, there is a smooth transition to the land of MUSK. The trail and longevity are unreal! I can't imagine Megamara on a woman! Although everyone has their own preferences and tastes.
