Before using the cup for the first time, sterilize it in boiling water for 3-5 minutes. Begin by washing your hands thoroughly with soap. Upon insertion, the cup should open with a noticeable suction or popping sound, indicating it is correctly positioned. If you're unsure, feel the base of the cup—it should be round or oval when properly inserted. If you detect any indentations, the cup has not fully opened. Gently grasp the base of the cup (not the stem) and try to rotate it to create a suction seal. Once in place, lightly pull on the stem; if you feel resistance, the suction is established, and the cup is correctly installed!
