The Ordinary Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1% Niacinamide & Zinc Face Serum

I really liked this product as it doesn't leave any residue after use.

I didn't buy it here, but I want to share my impressions. At first, I was skeptical, thinking it was just marketing and good product advertising. But ladies, I have periodic breakouts, and I can't even imagine how much money I've spent on skincare products. And these breakouts only occur on my cheeks, and they take a long time to heal. Closed comedones appear and pores enlarge on both my nose and cheeks. Sometimes, painful deep breakouts appear. After all of this, there are spots on my face that last for months. Recently, I had another breakout, and I used Bielenda toner with salicylic acid and niacinamide. Sometimes I alternated with niacinamide in the morning and a serum with vitamin C, Q+A, in the evening. But the main effect I got was from the niacinamide. The difference in the photos is within 3 days. However, it did dry out my skin a bit for some reason.

I didn't buy it here, but what I want to say is that, based on the reviews, in order to achieve the "wow" effect you expect, you need to use a combination of products and stop eating chips and other snacks that can cause breakouts (in other words, remove unhealthy food from your diet partially or completely). In the morning, I use The Ordinary - Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1% and The Ordinary - Salicylic Acid 2% Anhydrous Solution. In the evening, I use The Ordinary - Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1% and The Ordinary - 100% Plant-Derived Squalane. Also, let's not forget that before applying these products, it is important to thoroughly cleanse your skin, and simply washing your face with water is not enough. There are three steps to cleansing: hydrophilic oil, foam or gel cleanser, and toner. Only after that, you can safely apply the serums. And after using acidic serums or any other acid-based skincare, it is necessary to apply an SPF cream. I want to tell you that the results are truly impressive. The skin has become firm and radiant, the breakouts have disappeared, and if they do appear, it's only a few during PMS. The skin tone has become even, and it looks healthy. I even stopped using foundation, only occasionally using BB cream when needed. So, I highly recommend it. And most importantly, when introducing acids into your daily skincare routine, the skin may initially react with more breakouts as it goes through a cleansing process. BUT it's better to consult with a dermatologist and find a skincare routine that is suitable for you.

I bought it abroad, not here. It is a good serum that effectively dries out breakouts and overall improves the appearance of the skin. I used it for a while and now I can't use any makeup... Even the lightest shade of foundation oxidizes and I end up looking like an orange... Can you please advise me if there is any way to fix this?

I found this serum to be very suitable for me. It doesn't create a wow effect, so you don't wake up in the morning with glowing skin, but after some time, you notice that breakouts and pimples have significantly reduced, and overall, the skin is more even.

The downside is that it runs out quickly.

When applied, it stings, even when there are no visible damages on the skin. It tightens and dries out my oily skin, especially in the nasal folds. It feels slightly sticky after application, which I don't really enjoy on my skin. I can confirm the mattifying effect. However, I prefer when my skin feels moisturized and soft, rather than polished.

Cursed be the day when I bought this item. I had been struggling with acne for almost a year, using systemic retinoids to treat it. Everything had improved and my skin was doing well for a few months, until I decided it would be a good idea to shrink my pores and even out my complexion. That's why I purchased this product. And after that, hell broke loose... I started breaking out with pimples... I tried to keep using it, as I read that such a reaction might occur in the beginning, but after 2 months, things only got worse, not better. I stopped using it, but the pimples didn't go away... I had to go back to the doctor and try medication to treat it.

I ordered a second bottle, but to be honest, I don't notice any significant changes in my skin. Yes, it's less prone to breakouts, but I'm not sure if it's solely because of this product.

I used half a bottle of this product. There were absolutely no changes on my skin, no claimed or unclaimed effects. I used it with toner, on clean skin, under moisturizer, without moisturizer, only during the day, twice a day, and every other day, alternating with hyaluronic acid.
The serum did not remove any skin imperfections, nor did it add any new ones (as some claim). It did not cause any breakouts, reduce pores, or make my skin smoother or brighter.
My skin is sensitive and combination (used to be oily, now closer to normal with dryness on the cheeks), but the pores still appear large. I thought this product would help minimize them, but nothing happens. There are also some slightly noticeable post-acne marks that the serum has no effect on either.
Maybe there is a special method of application that makes it work? Because in the comments, people say that the serum somehow works for everyone except me.

The serum is wonderful, simply amazing. I have very oily skin. I previously tried the 7% niacinamide serum from Sane but didn't notice any effects. Although the concentration here is not much higher than Sane's, this ordinary serum has proven itself very well. I apply it in the evening and in the morning my face is dry, without sebum.
The serum itself is quite thick, if you apply too much, it can feel heavy and clump on the face. But if you do everything correctly, this won't happen. I didn't notice a significant reduction in pore size, but it definitely tackled the oiliness completely.

I really liked it. I had a lot of pimples and blackheads, but they started to disappear when I started using it. Now my skin is less oily, my pores are not as deep, my complexion has evened out, and my pimples are gone. I'm almost out of the bottle, so I'll definitely be getting more. No effect whatsoever. It leaves a sticky residue, and because of this, the foundation sticks to it even if I apply moisturizer and makeup primer on top. The greasiness remains the same as before. Definitely recommended for oily and problematic skin. Oh, and the niacinamide in the formula provides perfect additional hydration before applying a lightweight cream.

I love Ordinary products, but I didn't understand this serum. It doesn't mattify the skin and doesn't reduce oiliness. After a few hours of applying it (along with the Ordinary NMF moisturizer and mineral powder), my face becomes shiny. It also didn't have any effect on the number of breakouts (under the chin). It was difficult to use this product for several weeks without seeing any results, so I went back to using the 12% ascorbic serum and matrixyl, which showed noticeable effects after just a few uses.
