The consistency is very thick and heavy, similar to petroleum jelly. I tried rubbing it in my palms, but it still doesn't apply well to my hair (even when I changed the amount). It has a lightweight feel when applied with a brush, but it doesn't provide any thickening effect. It didn't work for me.
