It smells like my grandmother's perfume! It's too powdery for my taste, and I don't like it.
The gel is great, just like all Tesori d'Oriente gels. However, this particular scent didn’t appeal to me. It smells sour to me and reminds me of men's colognes for those over 50. It's a bit too strong for my taste. On the plus side, the gel is thick, and it leaves the skin feeling nice to the touch. The fragrance lingers after showering, but because of the scent, I won't be repurchasing it. My favorites from this series are Fiore Del Dragone, Persian Dream, and Vaniglia E Zenzero Del Madagascar—they really hit the spot for me. There's also a nice line with oils. They have a slightly different design and are more expensive, but the scents are luxurious: Argan and Sweet Cyperus Oils, Rice and Tsubaki Oils.
I'll say this: when I first smelled it in the packaging, it reminded me of an old, heavy, floral perfume, like something my grandmother would wear. I'm someone who typically loves the sweet, caramel-like scent of the Byzantium gel from this brand. However, once I lathered it up, I was completely amazed. The fragrance is luxurious, beautifully perfumed, and it lasts a long time. I also want to note that I didn’t experience any allergic reactions with these gels, which is great since my skin tends to be sensitive to gel ingredients.
If I had liked the scent, I would definitely have given it a higher rating. For me, it's too heavy; I prefer softer floral, creamy, and vanilla notes. I couldn't detect any rose fragrance at all. However, my husband really likes it, and now he uses it exclusively!
I have tried five different gels from this brand, and all of them were decent. However, in terms of fragrance and longevity, this one is my favorite. It smells so good that even my pajamas retain its scent for a whole day! ❤️
