“Portrait of Marie Antoinette with a Rose” — in this painting by French artist Élisabeth Vigée Le Brun, the queen is depicted holding an elegant flower. The rose symbolizes her grace and vulnerability, which inspired Francis Kurkdjian to create the fragrance A La Rose. According to the perfumer himself, it is an open declaration of love, his personal ode to femininity. Unlike the namesake perfume from 2014, L'eau A La Rose greets you with sweet pear and lychee instead of a burst of citrus, and in the heart, the vibrant magnolia is replaced by a light and airy peony. When sprayed, the eau de toilette gives the sensation of being caressed by hundreds of pink petals—very gentle and fresh. The composition by Maison Francis Kurkdjian is extraordinarily soft, weightless, and spring-like—never overwhelming or intrusive. The fragrance simply envelops you in a fresh cloud, prompting you to discreetly lift your collar to your nose and simply savor the moment.
Top notes open with juicy and cheerful fruits—pear and lychee—that pleasantly refresh and impart a soft sweetness.
In the heart, notes of Grasse rose dominate, rich and multi-layered, with floral and honeyed undertones. They are joined by the spicier and fruitier Damask rose, whose nuances perfectly echo the juiciness of the lychee and pear at the beginning. Delicate peony adds a touch of green-fruity freshness, while violet lends a hint of velvetiness.
The fragrance concludes with an airy and transparent musk accord, creating a sense of tenderness and purity.
I didn't buy it here, but this is a great summer fragrance that bears a striking resemblance to JHG Miss Charming.
I received a miniature. This fragrance is the best, even though I hate the scent of roses. But in these perfumes, it is the best... it's not Bulgarian rose, but probably more like peony rose... these perfumes are worth the price tag)))
Tea rose, the very bush of a garden pink rose. I was expecting something more. Similar to Yves Rocher's fresh rose.
A perfume masterpiece!!!
This fragrance surpasses all roses; it captures the essence of a young, vibrant rose, freshly picked from the garden, with dew drops still glistening on its petals.
