The first step in the keratin treatment process is washing the hair with a deep cleansing shampoo. For thin hair, one wash is sufficient, but if the hair is thick and heavy, it is better to wash it twice. This is necessary to remove various impurities and styling products from the hair, and it also helps to open the cuticles, allowing the keratin to penetrate deeply into the hair structure. Depending on the length and thickness of the hair, 10 to 30 ml of the shampoo is needed for one procedure. After this, pat the hair dry with a towel and blow-dry it on a medium heat setting until it is completely dry. The most critical step is applying the keratin and sealing it. It is recommended to work in a well-ventilated area and wear a respirator to protect yourself from keratin fumes. First, divide the hair into several sections and secure them with clips. Then, shake the bottle and apply the keratin to a strand along its entire length. When applying, leave a gap of 1-1.5 cm from the roots; if you want to maintain volume, leave about 3 cm. Distribute the product evenly using a special brush, paying more attention to the length and ends. Excess can be removed with a fine-toothed comb. Attention! Do not apply keratin to the scalp. Do not overapply the keratin; it should not be too much. Once the entire product is applied, comb the hair back and wait for about 30 minutes. Then, dry the hair with a blow-dryer until completely dry, without using hot air. Divide the hair into 3-4 sections and secure them with clips. Set the flat iron temperature to 230°C, separate a horizontal strand no thicker than 1 cm, and treat it until the steam disappears (2 to 5 passes). For 3 days, avoid washing the hair and any styling, including tucking hair behind the ears, tying it into a ponytail, or using headbands, clips, and pins. This will prevent creases. After this period, wash the hair with a sulfate-free shampoo and continue using it for regular washing to prolong the treatment effects. Hair coloring is allowed only two weeks before the procedure. In the future, use only ammonia-free dyes. It is also not advisable to undergo the procedure before a vacation, as seawater quickly washes keratin out of the hair.
