For a century, Bentley Motors has been producing luxury cars that combine perfection and expertise, tradition and modernity. The Bentley Fragrances collection draws inspiration from this prestigious world, where leather and wooden panels become works of art. Authenticity, elegance, and sophistication are taken to the extreme. For this edition of the iconic For Men brand, master perfumer Dorothée Piot plays on the striking contrast of radiant notes that highlight the refined background of polished dark wood. The For Men Black Edition Eau de Parfum, like a perfectly tailored suit, reflects the absolute sophistication of a man who will accept nothing but the best.
Top notes of radiant powdery violet and sharp mandarin are as fresh as a crisp white shirt. Cool pink pepper and nutmeg add a silvery sheen to a pair of elegant matte steel cufflinks.
Heart notes of bright jasmine—a shimmer of a silk tie—unfold like dark fabric with the delicate texture of smooth patchouli and earthy papyrus.
Base notes of cool incense emerge with an even darker tone at the base of the pyramid, continued by the tobacco aroma of tonka beans and the satin of cedarwood with a touch of leather, based on musk and crisp dry wood notes.
The scent reminds me of soapy bubbles, it has a unique quality to it.
I will write briefly for those who are interested in the fragrance. The name of the fragrance has no relation to its content. It starts with citrus notes, a hint of pepper in the middle, and a woody undertone. The most important thing is that the scent is very fresh and mature, not old-fashioned, but rather specifically grown-up and very modern. It falls into the category of blue fragrances, not aquatic ones. The longevity is average, maybe slightly below average. It is not loud, perfect for the office, so you won't annoy people. I didn't mention the base notes because it remains fresh throughout and has a slight sweetness at the end, just a tiny bit. Personally, I love this fragrance because of what it represents, its masculinity and freshness with a hint of darkness. It may seem cliché to some, but not to me considering the unisex bland things that are being produced nowadays. I don't love it for its longevity, I want more of it and for a longer time. In summary, if you're looking for a fresh, masculine, mature, not loud fragrance in a modern direction at an affordable price (a workhorse), you should pay attention to this one.
