So after receiving a new mascara, for a few consecutive days, I open it for a few minutes while doing my makeup, just for a minute or two, no more. It doesn't work as I want it to right away, but after a few days, I get the desired effect. The mascara lasts at least half a year. After each replacement of the old one with a new one, I stick a sticker with the date, and recently threw away the one I bought in June.
