A word of caution before you take a deep dive into the mandelic acid’s skin benefits. The APIS Professional 40% Mandelic Acid is a potent chemical peeling agent; as such, it is advisable that you consult a licensed cosmetologist to perform this beauty treatment. It can dramatically resurface your skin to visibly smooth wrinkles, refine rough texture and, eventually, result in a brighter overall complexion.
Benefits of APIS Professional 40% Mandelic Acid:
- suitable for all skin types, especially oily and combination;
- gently removes dead skin cells;
- fixes uneven skin texture;
- reduces fine lines and wrinkles by boosting collagen production;
- increases skin moisture levels;
- promotes cell turnover;
- antibacterial properties help to prevent breakouts;
- safe to use, with little risk of causing irritation.-
Apply a small amount of mandelic acid to dry and clean face, avoiding the area around the eyes and lips. Leave it on for 3-4 minutes, apply a neutralizing gel in gentle circular motions and then rinse off with cold water. Apply once per day, ideally in the PM. Make sure you use SPF in the AM routine as mandelic acid can increase sun sensitivity.
This is a good exfoliator, as it leaves the skin smooth and radiant. I have had aggressive peels done by a cosmetologist before, so for my skin, this product was too mild. However, overall, it is a good product and I will definitely order it again.
I have bought this product before and I really like it. At first, it was unbearable to endure for a couple of minutes. Last time, I managed to keep it on for 20 minutes and my skin peeled off nicely. The result afterwards was fantastic, so I highly recommend it.
Bielenda's is much better. Highly recommend all Bielenda's acids. I don't understand, why Apis acids aggravates and sensitises my skin, while Bielenda's doesn't, even though it is supposed to be the same thing
Ferulic acid from APIS is wayy better in improving skin texture and acne marks
Very weak. I have tried both 15% and 20% strength. There is some effect, but it is very weak. Perfect for beginners.
I bought it at a discount for 350 UAH. It is simply amazing for this price. It can definitely compete with Mediderma gels. However, I wouldn't recommend it for inexperienced hands.
This is my first experience with a chemical peel. After reading many reviews about almond acid, I decided to try it since my skin is prone to acne. I must emphasize that even though the acid is meant for superficial peeling, it is still an acid and an active substance. I apply it very carefully using a cotton pad, leave it on for 3-4 minutes, neutralize it, and rinse it off. I repeat this procedure every four days. After three treatments, my skin has become much smoother, and even old scars have faded! I am definitely satisfied with the result! The most important thing is to remember about safety and proper skin care afterwards. I will do up to 10 treatments and repeat it in the winter for sure.
