  • For many distinguished perfumers, their passion has transformed into a true form of art, and in search of inspiration, they embark on the most incredible journeys and partake in unpredictable adventures. Thus, the perfumer Bertrand Duchaufour set off on a journey to the distant and still largely unknown to us, Africa. The result of this trip was the unparalleled scent of L’Artisan Parfumeur Timbuktu eau de toilette, named in memory of an ancient African ritual that the mesmerized French perfumer had the chance to witness.

The magical ritual, referred to by the locals as “Wusulan”, was dedicated to enchanting fragrances. The secrets of conducting this ceremony were passed from mother to daughter, allowing women of each new generation to attract and keep their true love. L’Artisan Parfumeur Timbuktu eau de toilette features a complex composition that includes exotic woody and chypre accords, as well as notes of the unusual Karo Karounde flower unfamiliar to us. The perfume truly captures the African temperament and allows one to fully experience the exotics of those regions. Perhaps, L’Artisan Parfumeur Timbuktu also possesses mysterious enchanting abilities.

Unforgettable fragrance, tangy-bitter, long-lasting. Discovered it 5 years ago. Waited patiently for it to be available again. Highly recommended for unique individuals.

Updating my comment about the fragrance: my opinion has changed! You should definitely not start your acquaintance with this brand with Timbuktu. This scent is extraordinary. The first few times on the skin, it unfolded as some kind of medicine with pine. I set it aside to settle for a few days. Today, it opened up in the trail as a warm forest and something.... pleasantly papery... maybe papyrus? As claimed in the pyramid. I also occasionally detect a hint of pepper, alcohol. Yes, sometimes my nose picks up these medicinal notes, but in combination, it should definitely be in the collection for lovers of interesting smells. It is definitely unusual, and many may not like it, so test it on yourself (not on a blotter!!!) several times. That's how it is. At first strict and medicinal, then warm and multifaceted. P.S. Thanks to the makeup managers, when there were questions about the authenticity of the product, the reaction was instantaneous! :)

I understood what the issue was. It's not frankincense. It's a strong cardamom scent. I have tested Timbuktu in the old design. Very unfortunate :( The previous one was softer and pleasantly settled on the skin.

I recently received my order. It is not clear why the fragrance was sent without the cellophane packaging, as I ordered a non-tester version! The scent does not resemble the one I tested at Brocard. Here, I can only smell overwhelming frankincense that suffocates. Once the fragrance settles on the skin, it becomes more pleasant, but enduring the process until it does so is unbearable.

The scent is very interesting. It has a juicy and rich aroma. I bought it as a gift for my mom, and she is crazy about this fragrance. Personally, I find it a bit heavy. However, one of the things I love about niche perfumes is that each fragrance reacts differently on everyone. And on each person, this fragrance unfolds in a completely unique way. I applied the scent on my wrist and accidentally got some on my coat. The scent stayed on the coat for three days. It is very long-lasting.

Perfect for lovers of incense and other spicy Eastern scents. The longevity is average, and the fragrance is not ordinary, revealing itself with a beautiful trail. It is very similar to Clinique's Aromatics Elixir, but this one is much richer and sharper. Overall, I highly recommend it!

I ordered this product based on the reviews, hoping for something new and unusual. At first, it was overwhelming with incense, incense, incense that felt suffocating. However, after some time, it revealed a beautiful scent unlike anything else. Thank you to the website staff.

The fragrance is wonderful and unique. Many people ask what perfume it is and even want it for themselves. And I am delighted with the scent.
