Series 3: Incense - a collection of exquisite perfumes from the Japanese fashion house Comme des Garçons, launched in 2002. The series includes five fragrances that are united by the notes of mysterious incense.
The fragrance Zagorsk was developed by the renowned French perfumer Évelyne Boulanger. It was named after the city of Sergiev Posad, which was known as Zagorsk during Soviet times. The city is home to the Trinity Lavra of St. Sergius, often referred to as the spiritual center of the Orthodox Church. Incense here symbolizes purification and tranquility.
The composition of Zagorsk opens with a sharp burst of cedar and Japanese cypress notes, which gradually transition into birch accords. The woody notes are softened by the melody of velvety iris and the gentle touch of floral sweetness from the elegant violet.
The cool notes of the Zagorsk fragrance will appeal to both men and women who choose perfumes that possess the power of relaxation and meditation.
One of my favorite scents. It distinctly smells like either melting snow in early spring or summer wild grass under the hot sun. It is familiar, but also gives off hints of incense and hospital, hence its nickname "cemetery-like". The scent is intriguing, but temperamental and not for everyone - it is best to not take any risks without trying it beforehand.
