Using a coarse nail file, gently remove the top coat layer until it is no longer shiny and smooth. Soak a lint-free pad in acetone until it is damp but not dripping wet. Place it on top of a fingernail, wrap the tip of the finger in aluminium foil or use ready-made remover wraps. Leave it on for 10-15 minutes to let the acetone soak into the gel polish. Now the gel polish can be easily removed without damaging the nail plate. Remove the gel polish from each nail with the orangewood stick.
