Baptism with fire is a biblical symbol, a sacred ritual that means complete cleansing from sins and repentance. It inspired perfumer Serge Lutens to create the Serge Lutens Bapteme du Feu Eau de Parfum, which reflects the feelings of its owner and the fluidity of his emotions. An extraordinary combination of rare accords in an oriental composition emphasises the finest taste of the owner.
The olfactory pyramid of Serge Lutens Bapteme du Feu Eau de Parfum:
Top notes reveal the unusual combination of spicy ginger and sweet powdery nuances.
Heart notes envelop the body with refreshing tangerine and leathery castoreum motifs.
Base notes form a dry, woody trail enriched with majestic osmanthus undertones.
This perfume is a work of art and my favorite for years. I adore it with all my heart and am very happy to be acquainted with it. It is a scent of fairy tales and gothic Christmas. I recommend it to those who love castoreum in perfumery.
This is my personal perfume nightmare. I can't stand it for even half an hour. Thankfully, I didn't buy it here and thank goodness it was a small sample. In short, it definitely doesn't smell like anything typical and nobody in your circle will have anything like it (unless they're perfume enthusiasts). Overall, there are no edible motives as many claim, no ginger, just gunpowder, castoreum, mulled wine with lots of cloves, and a sense of unease. It literally makes me nauseous. By the way, if you're not familiar with castoreum, I strongly recommend getting acquainted with it through small samples.
For me, this fragrance is perfect for creating a festive mood. It works exceptionally well for these purposes. The concept of New Year is portrayed in a stereotypical way: mulled wine, gingerbread, orange; however, the scent is wearable, beautiful, and unique! I definitely recommend it, but in my opinion, it is most suitable in December and January, so you can confidently get a small size.
Today I received my coveted little bottle, and I am delighted that it is in the old design. I would like to thank Makeup for giving me the opportunity to purchase such a work of art at a reasonable price.
I received a bottle in the 2016 version (not the one shown in the picture), which I am extremely happy about. I verified it through the batch code and indeed, it is from the year 2016.
