The product doesn't lighten at all. I applied it to my light brown hair, and they stayed the same color, with an added hint of red. Terrible.
It completely met my expectations, AMAZING! Here's more: I've been a blonde since childhood and have maintained this color throughout my life using various methods. Recently, I've been using a gradient technique from slightly darker roots, three shades darker (from levels 8 to 11), which helped me avoid yellowish roots. This summer, I decided to even out my color myself using this product, and it lightened my roots quickly to a lovely tone (not gray-silver, but beige-pearl). It applied smoothly and efficiently; one package was enough for my thick hair, about 3 cm from the scalp. My hair feels soft, resilient, and shiny!
