Foundation - Flormar Mat Velvet Matifying Foundation
I have never seen a worse foundation. The reviews online were mixed, so I decided to try it when it was on sale. I regretted it a million times! It settled into every pore on my face, the coverage was uneven, it had a very yellow tint, and it smelled like cheap old-fashioned makeup.
The foundation leaves me with mixed feelings. It offers medium to full coverage, but I wouldn't recommend layering it, as it can cause streaks and patches, even when using a sponge—let alone a brush. The finish is matte, although it starts to shine on combination skin after an hour or two. It doesn't set on its own, so it's better to use a setting powder. I also used a setting spray to complete my makeup, which helped it wear quite well. The shade 203 Porcelain is very beautiful and suits me perfectly, but it's only suitable for very fair skin; otherwise, it will look excessively pale. In the tube, it has a noticeable pink-orange undertone, but this disappears on the skin. Overall, for its price, it's a decent option, though not perfect. Also, if you have any dry patches, it will highlight them.
Comparative Analysis of Light Shades: Lumene Natural Code Skin Perfector Matt in shade 10 Vanilla and Flormar Mat Velvet Matifying Foundation in shade 203 Porcelain.
My favorite has consistently been Lumene because I haven't found such a light ivory shade in the mass or mid-market ranges. However, it's often out of stock, and I end up waiting for six months for it to be available. As an alternative, I tried Flormar. My conclusion: Flormar is much pinker and has a heavier, thicker texture. But when applied with a beauty blender (I use a dupe from Colordance) and topped with a yellow-toned powder, it looks quite good too.
It's really hard to choose the right shade. I ordered shade 204, which is described as beige. But honestly, it's not beige at all... it's more like a tan. I'm not pale-skinned, but on my face, it looks like I've applied iodine. I'm not happy with it... the tone doesn't match its description. Buying it was a guessing game... it cost almost 170 UAH with delivery... and now it's just sitting there unused.
The foundation is excellent. Could you recommend a powder to go with shade 209?
I want to share a few thoughts about the shade 201 Warm Ivory. It's very light and warm. While it didn't completely cover my imperfections, I liked how it applied with a soft matte finish. I wore it for five hours, and there wasn't even a hint of oiliness. I definitely liked it. However, it might not be the best choice for problematic skin, as it doesn't do much to conceal spots, freckles, or blemishes.
The foundation is great. I chose shade 206, and it matched my skin tone perfectly. It covers imperfections and evens out my complexion. I really like it.
I tried shade 203, which is suitable for very, very pale skin. It becomes matte instantly on the skin, so there's no need for powder. That's where the positives end. It applies like a thick mask and is very dense. No matter how you apply it—whether with a brush, hands, or sponge—it goes on streaky and is very noticeable on the face. Even if you try to mix it with another foundation, it ruins that too. Overall, even for someone like me who isn't very picky, this product turned out to be terrible. It's a shame to have wasted money on it. You can find much better products for the same price.
Based on my experience, this cream works differently for everyone. For me, it's perfect for the T-zone. It doesn't clog my pores, even though the skin in my T-zone is oily with enlarged pores. I specifically buy it for this purpose, and I'm about to finish my second tube.
The foundation is thick and provides excellent coverage, concealing all imperfections. However, it tends to look mask-like and settles into pores, applying unevenly whether using fingers, a sponge (wet or dry), or a brush. The only positive aspect is that it immediately mattifies the face, maintaining this matte finish for about 5-6 hours. Shade No. 203 is extremely light and would suit very fair skin. Overall, I wouldn't recommend this foundation, especially considering its price—it's quite disappointing!
