Recently viewedHand GelWe all know how important it is to wash your skin regularly. The microbes, along with the dirty feeling, aren't the most pleasant factors to deal with. However, access to soap and running water is a luxury that you can't afford at times, even nowadays. To keep the microbes at bay, humanity invented a portable and effective sanitisers that we are used to these days and call hand gel.
Hand gel in a nutshell
Since it is as effective as soap, it's only natural to assume that the option is something of soapy consistency that we have to spread all over the contaminated area. However, in reality, it is an alcohol-based liquid created to deal with derma contamination. The two main types of alcohol that are widely used in the production of portable hand gel are ethanol and isopropanol. Whenever you consider which option to acquire, you need to pay precise attention to the alcohol percentage. When the mentioned alcohol part in the sanitiser is lower than 60%, the sanitiser is poorly effective. At the same time, when it is higher than 95%, the liquid will simply evaporate, so the higher part should not exceed 80%.
Which type of hand gel is the best?
Most sanitisers come in a few types. They are the following:
- Spray.
- Pump.
- Squeeze.
- Aerosol.
Both spray and aerosol sanitisers come in a liquid form. They are effective, but a lot of the product goes up in the air when you are about to apply it. Aside from the fact that you may run out of it a little faster, either form is equally effective as long as the alcohol part is satisfactory.
Pump and squeeze options are actually thicker in consistency and require some sort of effort applied in the process to be out. If you are unwilling to touch the bottle or container all over, it wouldn't be a preferred option.
How much product do you need?
When you settle upon the preferred consistency and brand, you may still wonder how much of it is enough to keep your skin clean and decontaminated. There is no precise formula to stick up to. Some sources say that one pump or a pea-sized squeeze is enough. However, if the area to spread the sanitiser over is larger than average, then it won’t be enough. So, depending upon your personal preferences and contaminated area size, you need to use as much product to be enough to cover the skin thoroughly. Aside from that, pay attention to the speed at which hand gel evaporates. It should remain on the surface for at least 30 seconds. Yet, the product shouldn't be dripping off your skin. Besides, if your derma is too greasy or dirty, the product may be insufficient to clean and decontaminate it well. In such cases, the sooner you reach the water and soap source – the better.
Very often, washing yourself the moment you feel your derma is dirty isn't an easy task to carry out at once. At times like this, a hand gel of choice will help you deal with the situation. No matter the type you find the most comfortable to use and carry around – you can buy every required option at MAKEUP online store.
