The legend of the Golden Indian, an indigenous king who submerged himself in the waters of Lake Guatavita, covered in gold dust and casting vast quantities of precious stones into it, captivated the attention of European monarchs for decades. Yet, the golden city was never found. However, this myth remains alive today.
