Van Cleef & Arpels Collection Extraordinaire Orchid Leather Eau De Parfum is an oriental balsamic unisex fragrance introduced to the public in 2021 by perfumer Julien Rasquinet. The composition explores the animalistic aspects of two amazing plants, frankincense and vanilla orchid. Both of them recreate exciting sensual skin notes, and their combination produces a truly magical effect.
The composition opens with amber and balsamic frankincense notes with a subtle lemon accent of cardamom. In the heart is a deep leather accord in the unexpected company of candied plum. It envelops you with its soft spiciness and suppresses the will to resist. Absolute vanilla and mystical incense smoke in the base add sophistication to this seductive fragrance.
Thick. I agree that there is no trace of Kirke in it! To me, it bears resemblance to Orchid Ford... Perhaps it reminds someone else too?!
Everything is great. Durable, long-lasting, and very complimentary.
This fragrance is incredibly long-lasting, has a trail, and is thick and concentrated. It provides warmth in cold weather. It is reminiscent of Plum Japonais by Tom Ford. The ripe plum, smoky prune, and leather notes are clearly distinguishable. This fragrance is of very high quality. There is no resemblance to Kirke, which has a loud, acidic, musky scent of a screaming cat; it is completely different.
The scent is really similar to Mancera Red Tabaco and, in the end, Kirke. It gives the impression that perfume houses shamelessly copy each other. It's as if there's nothing else left to create. I wanted to try something new, but it didn't work out. If you don't have the aforementioned scents, you might enjoy it because the smell itself is good.
