The secret to sharpening a soft pencil is to put it in the freezer for 10 minutes before sharpening! And voilà!
The pencil is great! I've bought it twice!! However, I get disappointed because it's impossible to sharpen!! I've ended up wasting more than I've actually used)
I will write about the colors. I have two pencils - 409 and 410. The darkest shade, 410, gives a chestnut-red color, which is perfect for red hair. I use the medium shade, 409, which is sandy-brown. It matches my dark brown hair with highlights and looks natural. I suspect that shade 408 is for blondes.
The quality of the fixative is excellent! It is soft and blends easily, requiring almost no pressure (unlike dry pencils).
The only drawback for me is that I cannot sharpen it due to its softness. It breaks in sharpeners. I will try sharpening it with blades instead.
I have the color 408, and in reality, the color is completely without any gray undertones but has a hint of reddish tones (which was quite disappointing). It draws pretty well.
