In 2002, the perfumers of the Japanese fashion house Comme des Garçons introduced a luxurious collection of five unisex fragrances, Series 3: Incense, which feature exquisite accords of mystical frankincense.
The Kyoto scent was developed by the renowned perfumer Bertrand Duchaufour. This remarkable composition is a tribute to Japanese culture, where incense is widely used in traditional Buddhist and Shinto practices. The Kodo (Japanese incense ceremony) originated in Kyoto, where incense trees were heated at low temperatures, allowing the fragrance to fill the space without smoke.
The foundation of the Kyoto composition is coffee notes, which gradually transition into relaxing woody accords, highlighted by the coolness of frankincense. The fragrance is completed with touches of vetiver and patchouli.
The truly magnificent Kyoto scent is sure to appeal to both men and women who prefer cool, meditative, relaxing perfumes capable of providing a tranquil mood.
The fragrance is worthy - noble, restrained, enveloping you with comfort and a philosophical lifestyle. However, it lacks longevity and does not leave a trail. Nevertheless, I still like it, just like most Garsons.
Out of the entire range of Garson's incense series, this one is the most restrained.
This fragrance is truly unique and rare! I bought it in Tokyo and only wear it on special occasions when I want to keep my scent a secret.
The fragrance is simply luxurious. It is very expensive, beautiful, and has a long-lasting trail.
