Ayurvedic Henna-based Hair Dye - Khadi Natural Herbal Hair Colour
The product did not color my gray hair, maybe just a little bit. I am not satisfied with the purchase. I bought it instead of Lady Henna because the stores were closed and my shade was not available for delivery. But I should not have bought it. The only positive aspect is that it strengthens the hair. However, I bought it to dye my gray hair, which unfortunately the dye did not handle.
The product initially did a good job of dyeing my gray hair, but after a few washes, the color faded slightly and my gray hair became a few shades lighter. However, my hair looked shiny and felt soft after using the henna. It also helped reduce hair fall. I chose the nut brown shade, which initially appeared more black but faded to a dark brown after washing.
Overall, the paint is good, but I was expecting a darker shade.
This is the worst henna I have ever used in my 10 years of coloring with henna. On dark brown hair, without any coloring, it turned into a grandma's red color. The shade was Dark Brown. Even when following all the technological steps with this henna (brewing at no more than 50 degrees, steeping, etc.), I expected any shade of chocolate or brown, but definitely not red. I gave it 4 chances. But sorry, keeping it on for 4-5 hours and ending up with grandma's red is just terrible. The only positive aspect is the packaging, which probably contributes to its high price, as well as the pleasant smell and the good quality of the hair after coloring.
I chose the light brown color based on the picture, but the actual shade of my hair turned out to be a light copper. As a result, my hair now has a grayish-green tint. I'm trying to wash it all out with oil and hoping that it will help.
The hair dye is amazing. After using it, my hair became bouncy and very shiny. Not all of the gray hair was covered after the first time, but after the second time, all of the gray hair was perfectly colored. The color is simply delightful, and my hair looks as shiny as in expensive shampoo commercials. I left it on my hair for three hours, and the color was dark brown. The shampoo of the same brand, shikakai and vanilla, is also great, along with the 18 herb oil mask that I applied under a cap for an hour before washing my hair, and the serum for the ends of my hair after washing my hair. In just three weeks, my hair is unrecognizable! New baby hairs have appeared everywhere, standing up like little hedgehogs. I highly recommend it, 10000%!
I have been using Vatika Henna hair dye in the Dark Brown shade for several years. It completely covers my gray hair, 100%. For some reason, I decided to try a similar product that is more expensive and bought this one, also in Dark Brown. What a waste of money. It doesn't cover at all, absolutely. Instead, my gray hair just gets a funny yellowish tint. I followed the instructions, used a thermometer, followed the procedure, and left it on for almost 4 hours. Three days later, I decided to try again, but it was another day wasted on this disaster. Still no results. The only positive thing is that my hair looks shiny and only a few strands fall out when I wash it, although this might be due to the hair masks I use with oil. Even if it is the effect of the dye, it would be better to buy cheap colorless henna and achieve the same result. I strongly do not recommend it, it's just a waste of money and time.
Girls, if you want to become a stunning brunette, you need to start by applying a base (dye) made of henna a day before using indigo. The indigo itself will not make you a brunette.
Mix room temperature henna with a tablespoon of lemon juice or vinegar. Leave it for 12 hours and then apply it to your hair. If you are used to preparing henna with boiling water, your hair will end up looking like a scrub brush, so it's better to wait.
After dyeing your hair with henna, the next day or the day after, you can use Khadi. Leave it on for three or more hours, but don't wait for the indigo to release its color in the container. The indigo should release its pigment on your hair. Brew it, mix it, and immediately apply it to your hair. And, of course, all the accompanying items should be made of plastic.
At first, the pigment will wash out, but that's normal. The pigment needs to accumulate. Use a plastic wrap, gloves, and a warm cap, and you will have Indian luscious locks. No other dyes can compare to herbs in terms of quality and hair shine. Each time, you will have a different depth of color, not just plain black, but with highlights.
I was able to cover my gray hair in just two attempts (each lasting about 3.5 hours). And as others have mentioned, my hair looks amazing after using this product - even better than after a botox treatment.
I didn't like it at all. Even after using a pre-coloring treatment, it didn't take at all. I did two dyeing sessions in a month, leaving it under a cap for 5 hours each time (in the summer heat!), and the color didn't take at all. My gray hairs only turned light reddish. I gave up and covered it all with ammonia-based dye. P.S. I chose the black shade.
Product Review: Natural Dark Blonde Hair Color 6.0 (Dark Ash Blonde, Grayish), with 80% glass-like grayness on the temples and almost no grayness on the rest of the head. The roots have grown out by 6-7 cm, while the length has been treated with a chemical dye in shade 6.0. The hair is in good condition, lively, not dry, and has minimal split ends. I used the Dark Brown shade without prior henna toning, brewed it with slightly cooled water without pigments (like coffee, etc.), and left it on for 4 hours - 4 hours on the roots and 30 minutes on the ends (a small amount of freshly brewed mixture). I added grape seed oil, wheat germ oil, and coconut oil.
Result: The gray hair was NOT covered completely, but it darkened very nicely. I achieved a well-toned and shimmering gray. The shade turned out even, beautiful, and blended perfectly with my dark ash brown hair. It even appeared too natural, almost excessively "ashy" or slightly greenish. Next time, I will try brewing coffee to give the color a warm chestnut shade. The hair is not overly dry.
Overall, the experience is somewhat contradictory.
PROS: The composition is clearly better than chemical dyes, which have been proven to be directly linked to cancer. The color is very natural. The gray hair is toned nicely. The hair becomes slightly heavier and voluminous - which is a plus for me. The hair is in excellent condition, not overly dry - especially when combined with oils.
CONS: The process is time-consuming, and toning the gray hair with henna will make it even longer. The pillowcase gets stained in the first few days. The price for the first application is not the cheapest.
The main drawback is that the packaging only lists "Key Ingredients." I want and have the right to know the FULL composition, not just the main ingredients. Now, I can't be 100% sure about the absence of chemical components, and my trust in the manufacturer is undermined.
The "black" hair dye did not take, but it did stain the bathtub and pillowcase in a delicate light blue color.
You can achieve the same effect (density, "thickness") with colorless henna in less than 4 hours.
I give it 1 star for the amusing iron can.
I will go back to using Lady Henna.
The product works wonders, even after just one hour my fine ends became denser and acquired a shade (I must mention that due to the indigo in the composition, it is important to consider that the color will be slightly darker than shown in the picture). The regrowth of gray hair at the roots did not get colored, only slightly darkened. I don't see it as a hair dye for myself, but as a toning treatment - yes.
The hair dye revitalizes the hair, giving it a healthy shine and volume, just like that of Indian beauties. However, it didn't fully cover the gray hair, only made it slightly darker. I wouldn't recommend it to those who have this issue, but as for hair care, it's wonderful! I followed the instructions and kept it for 4 hours. The dye is good, but I won't be purchasing it again.
Hello everyone. I bought the black color. The instructions state that the processing time is 4 hours, but I could only endure for 3 hours, I just couldn't go any longer. My hair is dark blonde, and it only darkened slightly. Next time, I will try for 4 hours.
The paint is good. The instructions are on the bottom of the can, under the packet of paint. The first time, only some of the gray hair was covered (I diluted it with warm water and left it for 3 hours), but the second time was excellent (hot water, 4 hours). I was horrified at the thought of washing all this off my hair, but it's not as bad as I thought ;)

This hair dye does not cover gray hair or light roots. Even the black shade just tints the roots, making them darker, BUT NOT BLACK!!!
Continuing from the previous review (I'm adding a photo to show the texture and application process).
So, now I have finally reached the review of my favorite natural hair dye... I will try to answer the questions that were asked below... When it comes to colors, I always choose either Black or Indigo.
It covers gray hair and grown out light roots perfectly!! Although, I have to leave it on my light roots a bit longer. The jar is very big (150g!!!), it lasts for a long time... So, let's talk about the effects in order:
1). It doesn't dry out the hair. It gives shine and strong gloss, smooths the hair. They become dense, moderately stiff, rather elastic. What I like about Khadi is its more pronounced laminating effect. The hair is softer and much shinier with it.
2). It gives noticeable volume to the hair after drying. It feels like the hair is twice as thick.
3). Natural composition without harmful fixatives (this is important!). It doesn't sting the scalp when the mixture is applied to the hair. It didn't cause any allergies or unpleasant sensations during use.
4). The shade turned out voluminous, deep, and vibrant. Herbal dyes have an undeniable advantage - the hair color doesn't become flat, it doesn't fade with regular washing, it doesn't fade in the sun, it fades very gently and slowly (except for the much-suffered roots, but you just have to persistently and diligently fill them with pigment, then it pays off and you get a canvas of hair with a durable, even color). Moreover, when the shade gradually lightens, there is no feeling of tired, pigment-less hair. They are not dry or dull. I have repeatedly encountered situations where, after 2 weeks of dyeing and simply washing my hair, I heard the question: "Did you dye your hair again? The new color is so interesting, it seems a bit warmer?"
5). It is easy to mix: dissolve the powder in warm water until it reaches the consistency of sour cream. It is easy to apply.
I definitely recommend this brand of hair dye!
I also love Khadi Natural's "Shikakai" shampoo and conditioner (I wrote about them, see reviews) and I use their Amla-Brahmi oil, and for heat protection, I use their serum. The quality is great, my hair grows healthy and beautiful!
