Before first use, sterilize the cup in boiling water for 3-5 minutes. Make sure to wash your hands with soap beforehand. Fold the cup. There are different folding methods - you can try various ones and choose the one that suits you best. Insert the folded cup and allow it to expand inside the vagina. Once inserted correctly, the cup will open with a characteristic suction or popping sound, indicating it is properly positioned. If unsure, feel the base of the cup - it should be round or oval when inserted. If you notice any dents or indentations, it means the cup hasn’t fully opened. Gently grip the base of the cup (not the stem) and try to rotate it to create a suction seal. Once in place, gently tug on the stem; if you feel resistance, the suction is established, and the cup is successfully positioned!
Removing the Cup
Remember to wash your hands again. Gently pull on the stem and use your abdominal muscles to push the cup down until you reach its base. Carefully pinch the base to release the suction and remove the cup by sliding it out sideways. Empty the cup by pouring out its contents, rinse it with water (remember to clean the air holes), and reinsert it. When your period ends, boil the cup in boiling water for 3-5 minutes and store it in a cotton bag.
You can use the cup for up to 12 hours, so you typically only need to empty it in the morning and evening. However, if you find yourself needing to empty it without access to water, you can use toilet paper for cleaning.
