Before first use, sterilize the cup in boiling water for 3-5 minutes. Be sure to wash your hands with soap beforehand. Fold the cup. There are different folding methods—try a few and choose the one that works best for you. Insert the folded cup and let it expand inside the vagina. After insertion, the cup should open with a characteristic suction or popping sound, indicating that it has been correctly positioned. If unsure, feel the base of the cup—it should be round or oval once inserted. If you feel dents or folds, the cup has not fully opened. Gently grasp the base of the cup (not the stem) and try to rotate it to form a suction seal. Once in place, gently pull on the stem—if you feel resistance, the suction is established, and the cup is successfully positioned!
