Before using the cup for the first time, sterilize it in boiling water for 3-5 minutes. Make sure to wash your hands thoroughly with soap beforehand. Fold the cup. There are different folding techniques - try them out and choose the one that works best for you. Insert the folded cup and let it expand inside the vagina. Once in place, the cup will open with a characteristic suction or popping sound, indicating that it is correctly positioned. If unsure, feel the base of the cup - it should be round or oval when properly inserted. If you notice any dents or indentations, the cup has not fully opened. Gently grasp the base of the cup (not the stem) and try to rotate it to create a suction seal. Once positioned, try pulling slightly on the stem; if you feel resistance, the suction is established, and the cup is securely in place!
