I had high hopes for Pikovaya Dama...I really wanted to experience the mystery of a beautiful opera, hoping for theatrical mystique and other captivating unknowns. Perhaps I wanted to capture the Soviet spirits of "Pikovaya Dama," they were delightful in their unrestrained chypre aroma...But no, this Dame does not have chypre, instead it has a dominant powdery note, a luxurious blend of aldehydes with strong musk, sweet neroli, and dense frankincense with a classic iris root. Somewhere in the distance, patchouli can be faintly heard with truly Eastern sandalwood-vanilla notes. The perfume is long-lasting and very elegant, but...there are many fragrances like this. A worthy addition to any collection.
